Black Pearl is embarking on a search for a couple of keen industry professionals to join the ranks!

Currently, we are offering casual employment basis with a minimum of 30 hours and potential to progress into full-time.

We’re an incredibly tight-knit team, currently operating with just 5 members. Our utmost priority is someone who is excited about the industry and passionate about giving great service, as well as a commitment to longevity in the venue. Our perfect candidate is somebody with at least 2 years bar experience who is keen to jump in the deep end, enthusiastic about bartending and customer service, and is A-OK with the late nights (crucial). Full Australian working rights is a must.

This week’s celebrations!

We are simply stoked to be nominated as a 2026 finalist for Bartender’s Bar of the year in this year’s Australian Bar Awards. Our industry friends are our bread and butter, and we wouldn’t be the bar we are today without them. Here’s to you guys 🍻

Shoutout to Marnie, our Bar Manager for being listed in this year’s T25 Top 100 Bartenders! 🍸

Most of all, a massive congratulations to our young gun Dan for taking out the win in Victoria’s Espolon Cocktail Fights on Monday night. Dan battled out 49 other competitors coming out on top, and is now headed to Sydney Bar Week to compete in the National Finals! Amazing work Dan 🔥

We’re all feeling the love this week, and hope to see you at the bar this weekend to share it!

We’re teaming up with Sip & Guzzle straight out of New York for a one-night-only pop-up at Black Pearl - and this one hits home. Steve Schneider of S&G was part of our very first takeover with Employees Only all the way back in 2013 so having him back behind the bar is well and truly a full circle moment.

Ranked #39 on the World’s 50 Best Bars 2025 and crowned Best New U.S Bar at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards 2025, Sip & Guzzle are bringing their signature NYC charm, energy and top notch cocktails here to us in Fitzroy - do not miss this! Steve and Sam will be joining us behind the bar from 8pm sharp.
