The Alchemists were ancient philosophers & chemists who stumbled upon alcohol and distillation whilst on a quest to transform base metals into gold, attempting to discover a cure-all for diseases and searching to capture and concentrate life-force in the hopes of discovering eternal youth. We however, like to think of them as the world’s first bartenders...

Established in May 2009, The Alchemist

was created to provide you with a glimpse of these origins and an inviting, friendly atmosphere in which to enjoy the company of friends over some food and a potion or two. To create The Alchemist, we searched countless dusty auctioneers’ attics and ancient antique stores until we found the lounges & chandeliers to be rescued & lovingly restored, Century old pharmacy cabinets to create our bar, and all of the quaint and wonderful tools that our Alchemists would need to create the unique & enchanting atmosphere of a medieval lab. Our menu is designed to read as the perfect Alchemist experience – we have everything you will need to enjoy your evening. From palette-opening aperitif style drinks, delicious tapas options and selected wines, to the more complex and skilfully created signature cocktails and premium spirits. Our knowledgeable and personable staff will be only too happy to provide an insight into what we have to offer.
