Born in 2022 during a cold and quiet Castlemaine winter, HMNP was created by a group of dance-loving locals looking for connection, creativity, and a place to show off. What started as a grassroots gathering has grown into an iconic community event where anyone can step into the spotlight. It starts with an idea, a song, and a group of people who say, why not? Hot Moves No Pressure is a journey th

roughout the winter months, where everyday people become co-creators, choreographers, and dancefloor legends. It’s not about perfection — it’s about connection. Over weeks of rehearsal, shared laughter, missed steps, and triumphant moments, you and your crew will craft a two and a half minute masterpiece to perform together — for one night only — in front of a roaring crowd. And the audience? Half are fellow HMNP dancers and performers, and the other half are your chosen people — your cheer squad, your biggest fans. It’s a night of celebration, support, sequins, and serious joy. Think power ballads, double denim, rock eisteddfod vibes and the hottest moves this side of the Calder. Picture a room full of people cheering each other on, just for showing up and giving it a go. HMNP is inclusive, celebratory, and body-positive — welcoming people of all genders, all abilities, and all bodies to share in the love of dance. It’s not about being the best dancer in the room. It’s about being in the room together. Gather your group. Pick your track.

REGISTRATIONS to dance at HMNP26 open a t 9am Saturday 25th of April and close again at 9pm. The ballot will be drawn the following day, to give groups plenty of time to dust of their sequins, take some preventative anti-inflamatories, and limber on up ready to perform. Dearest Hot Moves No Mercy legends,

We cannot thank you enough for all of your incredible work both on—and in the chaotic, sequin‑covered lead‑up to—Saturday. But we’re absolutely going to try.

To the dancers:
This fever dream of an event simply does not exist without you. There were so many iconic moments, but here are just a few:
- The Bulk Bogans gave us the opener we didn’t know we needed: show tunes, wrestlers, and enough fake tan to cover a Kardashian. A marriage made in Bogan Heaven.
- The Fab 5 delivered moves so precise NASA is considering hiring them. They didn’t break character once, and kept that carpark sparkling clean.
- The Fisters brought the hot masc energy and proved that dance is for everyone - especially hot tradies. And, that thurible- genius.
- Cult‑O‑Mania served epic formations and a sexy reveal that converted half the room on the spot. We are all disciples now.
- The Rural Hot Bi***es rolled into the carpark like a well‑lubed beast emerging from the bush, radiating pure MOTHER‑F**KING energy. The car park is still smoking.

Our crew:
- DJ D.A.D. — a true triple threat. Cuts tracks. Cuts shapes. Cuts off circulation in those tiny shorts. And those legs- phwoar!
- MC Razz — vocals straight out of an ’80s AFL grand final and one‑liners that made us squeal and giggle with delight..
- Ref Lucy — made all the signs, crafted a bespoke shirt with a tiny sequin bow‑tie, and still soldiered on after nearly concussing herself. A hero.
- Merch Men Torsten & Armstrong — aggressively, joyfully attempting to sell every guest something that definitely fell off the back of a truck.
- Mek and Amelia — the best‑dressed ushers in town, herding the masses with style and holding back the wild pigs for as long as humanly possible.
- Child Star Brook - for his dulcet (and not so dulcet) tones and highly realistic imitation of the rurals Momager.
- The Teens at home for filming our promos and doing our ‘slick backs’, nails, and make-up through gritted teeth and rolling eyes.
- Freddie our tiny wrestling stunt guy in our promo videos who let us swing him around our heads and made us look tough AF.

The CSF Crew:
- Stage Manager Claudia — caught everything thrown at her (literally and metaphorically) with the grace of a caffeinated swan.
- Callum and Ian — providing lighting, sound, and INDOOR PYROTECHNICS because apparently we’re that kind of show now.
- Sam — for securing the hottest venue in town, despite us describing the event as “kind of like wrestling meets Eurovision.”
- The whole CSF team — for bringing the state fest back to our town and letting us celebrate Castlemaine in the most unhinged way possible.

Hot Moves No Mercy happened because each of you took the time, trusted our bonkers idea, and gave a full throttled 110%. For that, we are forever grateful.

And Last but not least, our audience. Who sat on the dirty, cold, concrete floor, turned the pantomime volume up, and cheered like their lives depended on it. You see us. You get us. We love you.

Following the success of the pilot project in 2025, Castlemaine Community House is again pulling together a pop superstar group for solo dancers who want to be part of the action.
