We are incredibly grateful to the RSL for their generous $10,000 grant to support our first stage of our new outdoor play space. 🌿

For more than 50 years, our Kindy has been part of this community, with generations of children and families learning, playing and growing here. This funding will help us continue that story by further enhancing our nature play environment for the children of today and those still to come.

Our outdoor space is such an important part of childhood at Kindy — a place to climb, explore, create, take safe risks, connect with nature and spend long stretches of time simply playing.

We are also very fortunate to have many families within our Kindy community who have served, or are currently serving, and we look forward to sharing some of their words of thanks and reflection. ❤️

And a very special thank you to our wonderful Grants Officer, who put the time and care into finding this opportunity and applying on our behalf. We are so grateful for the work that happens quietly behind the scenes to help make things like this possible for our Kindy.

A heartfelt thank you to the RSL for supporting our children, our community and the next chapter of our much-loved Kindy.

Our kindy garden is getting a little more colourful! 🌼

Busy hands preparing pots, planting flowers and watching tiny seeds sprout.

Exploring, wondering and discovering how things grow. Building curiosity, patience and a sense of responsibility as children care for their environment. ✨

We love our beautiful, established trees and the shade, character and natural beauty they bring to our kindergarten. 🌳 Of course, with all those magnificent trees come plenty of leaves!

Another successful working bee saw our wonderful families and community come together to lend a hand, helping us care for and beautify our large outdoor environment.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously gave their time and energy to improve our kindy. Our outdoor space is such an important part of children's everyday learning, play and connection with nature, and we're so grateful for the shared care and pride our community takes in looking after it.

Many hands make light work! 💚

Thank you, Di Farmer MP and Michael Healy MP, for spending the morning with us—playing alongside the children, exploring our beautiful environment and taking the time to talk with us about the work we do.

Kindergarten and the early years matter enormously. This is where children build the confidence, relationships, curiosity and sense of belonging that form the foundations for everything that follows. We loved sharing our special kindy with you and appreciate your recognition of just how important these early years truly are. 🩷🩵

It was a pleasure to visit C&K Cairns Community Kindy with Di Farmer MP the Shadow Minister for Education and the Early Years, and meet with the dedicated educators who are helping give local children the very best start in life.

Early childhood education plays a vital role in a child’s development, building confidence, curiosity, social skills and a lifelong love of learning. We had a valuable discussion about the importance of supporting families, investing in quality early learning, and ensuring our educators have the resources they need to help children thrive.

Thank you to the team at C&K Cairns Community Kindergarten for the warm welcome, the tour of your wonderful facility, and for the incredible work you do each day supporting young learners across our community.

The theme for National Child Protection Week is - Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action.

Protecting children is a shared responsibility. It means genuinely listening, noticing what children communicate through their words, play and behaviour, and responding in ways that help them feel safe, heard and respected—at kindy, at home and throughout the wider community.
Every conversation is an opportunity to show children that their voice matters. It is what we do next that makes the difference 💗

And here’s a little more of our Festival fun… ✌️🌼
What a far-out night!
A huge thank you to all of our wonderful families who helped bring our 70s vision to life — from the making and preparations beforehand to pitching in and joining us on the night.
It really was a team effort, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Peace, love and Kindy community. ✌️💛

What a fun afternoon at our Kindy Social last term.

There were painted faces, shared food, magic tricks, big laughs and lots of happy children. Flip Ripley’s magic show had everyone giggling, and it was lovely to see families spending time together in our kindy space.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the afternoon feel so relaxed and joyful.
