We got to talk to Mr Ngcebo Mkhululi Ndlela, Founder of indlela Events and Hire who was born and raised in Mpophomeni Township.
We asked him a few questions and this is what he had to say.
Oftenly people ask, if i am a chef, some would pass remarks like " hey i didn't know you were a chef " and some go to the extent of referring to me as a chef. But truth be told, I'm not a chef, but a regular human being who's just inlove and passionate about all things food. I literally think about food all day every day.
I am a self taught cook who's goal driven, with my biggest goal, being! To own a eatery one day! And i am striving to build a successful business career in the food industry.
To Asnwer your Question, " Where is your Restaurant? " I don't really own a restaurant.....
Funny enough i always ask myself " what's the point of making great food if nobody knows about it." and for my food to be known, i try to meet my clients halfway, instead of them trying to locate me since i currently don't have place that i'm based in, i do so by means of hosting mini pop - up events, that incoorporate Food • Music • Drinks • Fashion • Arts in different locations.
My home, for such ventures in Mpophomeni would be" Brothers Place " ( A Home Style Pop - Up Restaurant )Located at 2312 Mhlongo Road, eMadala.(Main Road to the Taxi Rank)
Brothers place, only operational on weekends only, has provided me with a home, as well as as platform to showcase my Food, by hosting chillouts mostly on Sundays with a concept known as the " Sunday Hot Spot ". Which takes place almost every First Sunday of the Month.
We wish Ngcebo all the best and we definitely will be coming to taste his food at the next pop up.
