Greetings all!! It's been too long! While we still can, we'd like to wish all of you an awesome 2014, everything of the best for the year ahead, only blessings and what you desire most!!

We're sure that many of you are wondering, "what the fudge...whatagwan at 'Fro..." lol

Well, it saddens me to advice that, after much deliberation, Karl and I have decided that this is as far as we will push this venture, for now, unfortunately...:-(

I'd like to take this opportunity, however, to thank from the bottom of my heart, everyone who has been a part of this amazing adventure. All the support, well wishes, ideas shared, friendships made, dancing, made every second of it absolutely special!! Thank you for the MAGIC;-)

See you guys pon de flip side, where the sun continues to shine :-)

German based traveller and filmmaker, Leonhard Alexander Leyh, presents three short films and reads one of the short stories that one of the films are based on.

Doccie screening: Into the Shadows; a pursuit into the underworld of the inner city of Johannesburg, tonight at Fro Music Lounge.

As political and economic tides change across the African continent, so communities are uprooted and people from neighboring countries move to South Africa in search of a better life. Many arrive in the inner city of Johannesburg, where they struggle for acceptance in the face of discrimination, poverty and violence. In their desperation they resort fo the only accommodation they can afford: the slum buildings of the inner city of Johannesburg.

Ode In Blood is a cross-cultural story directed by Rea Rangaka. The film was shot in Los Angeles California at the biginning of 2013.

The film follows the story of an illegal African immigrant (E.K.) who trying to earn enough money to get his family into the States. He ends up finding work for a very rigid and stoic Japanese ex-military vet (Enso) who pays him to be his handy-man around the house. After a peppery start, the two begin to form a bond and eventually become friends. That friendship is put to the test when Enso asks E.K. to help him commit sepukku: Japanese ritualistic su***de.

The film was self-funded and shot over a period of 10days. The film has thus far been met with great reception, about to make it's festival run having already won The Cecil B. DeMille Award for Best Direction, Cinematography, Editing and was nominated for Best Short Narrative Film. It has also won the coveted Caucus Foundation Award and Leo Freedman Grant. In September, Ode In Blood was one of a select shorts to feature at "First Cuts", an event that showcases some of the finest films from new directors in association with the Director's Guild of America (DGA).
