All Shook Up

Thank you thank you thank you for all of your lovely comments and concerned messages and apologies for a slow response.

There are a number of factors as to why this will be our last event but the main one being people not committing to attending the nights. Advertising All Shook Up isn't a cheap or simple process and in order for us to afford to do this we need the people who say they're interested in our events to attend and pay for tickets/entrance fees.

It's totally understandable why this is the case as the majority of our original demographic have moved away from London or have started families and don't go out as often unfortunately.

However we would be open to doing an ASU event once a year but only if enough people attend on the 23rd April so it'll be a bit of a test to see if it's worth All Shook Up continuing.

It's with a heavy heart to announce that All Shook Up is coming to an end... But we're going out with a bang on Saturday 23rd April with one last Hurrah at Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes.

We've been throwing All Shook Up for the past 7 years but all good things must come to an end.

We'd like to thank everyone who has shown up and twisted the night away on the ASU dance floor since 2015.

Let's make this one to remember - we'd love to see some familiar faces from over the years!

It is with great sadness that I write this post about the recent passing and loss of our dear friend, Maureen Melzack.

Maureen and her husband Steve have always been a hugely important part of the All Shook Up family since the night launched at Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes in 2015. They were always first on the dance floor and would inspire others to follow suit, which they did very successfully!

Maureen and Steve have been loved by all attendees over the past 6 years, in fact they reached quite famous heights amongst the All Shook Up crowd with many trying to imitate their dancing skills and others cheering them on from the sidelines! Although Maureen may have been one of the oldest jivers on the floor, her energy levels and stamina was far greater than most even half her age. Her passion for dancing and great taste in music was second to none and it really shone through.

Not only was she a talented dancer, she was such a kind, caring and thoughtful lady who was always such a pleasure to talk with. Each year at the Christmas events Maureen and Steve would arrive armed with Christmas cards and chocolate selection boxes for the staff, always with such lovely genuine messages written inside.

I can't imagine an All Shook Up event without the pair strolling, jiving and twisting the night away on the dance floor - it will never be quite the same again but I'm so glad they were able to help make ASU what it is today. Both Maureen and Steve will be sorely missed by everyone at All Shook Up, Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, all past ASU attendees and anyone who's ever had the privilege to watch them in person do what they loved to do best, for so many years in different venues and events all over London.

Here's to all the Magic Moments we shared with Maureen and Steve over the last 6 years on the All Shook Up dance floor! ✨❤️💃
