I would like to make it clear to everyone that the event billed as a Northern Soul/Ska do being held at Lyons Robin Hood in Rhyl

IS NOT THE RHYL SCOOTER WEEKENDER OR ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT!

This event is being organised by the camp themselves

This goes some way to explaining why the site made it so difficult for the Rhyl Weekender to go ahead

After 20+ years of organising and running this event, the site, which has NOTHING at all to do with the Scooter Scene! has obviously decided they can run it themselves

I am sure that when the loyal people who attended our weekend can see what is on offer you will be able to see for yourselves what kind of corporate event this is going to be?

Please keep in mind that the Rhyl Weekender didn’t end because we no longer wanted to run it, it ended due to insurmountable difficulties between the site and the organisers

Today it has become apparent that the great weekend we have all enjoyed an event that has now been copied by so many other events
THE RHYL WEEKENDER will not be on again this year and is unlikely to be held again unfortunately
We have tried to negotiate the issues we had in 2023 to enable us to carry on but the camp is not willing to help or make any attempt to work with us to resolve the issues
I know many of you will be disappointed about this outcome but the changes we have requested are directly due to the many complaints we received from those who were attending and this event has always been about everyone enjoying themselves and leaving looking forward to the following year, if this is no longer the case then the event can not continue. The event has always been about the attendee’s enjoyment
We have had a good run, almost 25 years playing all the great proper rally tunes that when we started the Nationals were no longer playing
A sad outcome but all good things come to an end !

A lot of people have been asking what is happening with the Rhyl Weekender this year?
Dates have been booked for the 13th and 14th of September our usual dates but due to insurmountable issues with Lyons the rally is at this moment not going ahead
Next year is the 25th Anniversary weekend so we expect to be full steam ahead for that one

I would like to thank the scooterists and people loyal to our event who where good enough to support us during the day and in the night time do's in the hope of keeping this weekender of 23 years going I really appreciate your help and support! For all of those who took advantage of the caravans we are allocated for people who support our event yet chose to visit other establishments I hope you also enjoyed yourselves
I would also like to thank all the traders who took the time and effort to attend this years weekender and make up one of the best FREE parts fairs we have had for quite a few years! they are truly appreciated unfortunately the lack of support from the people the fair was there for the benefit of means that it is unlikely all the same traders will return should the event continue?
I have to thank all the DJ's who did there best to keep people entertained in both rooms despite the lack of support they received and the issues we had with the sites new sound equipment, they all tried their best to make the weekend enjoyable for those who did attend
A big thank you to Big Nige and Ernie for organising the ride out again this year, for the time they took to organise a route and a pub that would accept all the scooter riders who chose to take part in the ride out but not bother to come back to the site after taking part I hope you all enjoyed it so thanks to Ernie and Nige for all there efforts
Special thanks has to go out to the Soulies who only attend the weekender for the Soul room, Big Mike and the Soul Knights crew for there on going support, its most appreciated and they help to create a good atmosphere in the Soul room and keep the event going
Big hugs for Eunice and the soul patrol ladies, she was kind enough to bring is a tin of celebration sweeties much to Michelle's delight !
Thank you to Millie, Dean, Kelly and Wes all the bar staff and security lads and all the other staff at Lyons who did there best to help make the event successful
Also a big hug and kiss and thank you to my wife Michelle who helps me deal with the weeks of stress, anxiety, phone calls, emails, meetings and time it takes to organise this weekend every year so hopefully it is well attended and everyone can enjoy it !? Or Not So?

OK everyone so I am at the camp now and have just negotiated a 10% happy hour between 8 an 9pm in our venue rooms so please get in early to take advantage of the cheaper bar price

So the weekend is nearly upon us! shame about the weather forcast but don't rely on that as it has usually turned out ok when the weekender is on? have faith and pray 😃 Hopefully everyone is excited and raring to go so lets all have another GREAT weekend
Martin has had to drop out so there is a GOLD caravan available to anyone who is still looking for accommodation? I know I have had quite a few enquiries so if your not sorted message Martin McManus

Less than 2 weeks to go hope everyone is getting excited!!
Ride out from the main entrance leaving at 12-30 Saturday, exiting the venue via the exit and not via the entrance ! and no its not the same as last year !
Custom show on the field, entrants for the show from 10am and judged after the ride out when everyone is back around 3pm please don't enter your scooter if you don't plan on staying for the presentation
We have a good number of stalls attending this year provided they all turn up as promised !?
Bar will be open on the field for liquid refreshment and the usual food outlets are open throughout the day
Night time entertainment doors open at 8PM one Rhyl Weekender wristband will give you access to both the main room and Northern room Payment at the main room entrance on the door £7.50 per person per night
Barbeque and burgers available from the smokers caged area at the side door as I am sure you are all familiar with Friday and Saturday night
Sold out early this year so its going to be a busy fun packed weekend for everyone to enjoy
22 years and still going strong 😀

Just to let you all know the onsite accommodation has sold out, that includes the 35 extra we had added
If I am advised of any cancellations or non balance payments I will let everyone know if they are then available
Its going to be another great busy weekend

8 weeks today ladle's and germolene's and we will all be enjoying this years Rhyl Weekender, comes around so fast ! traders booked, ride-out organised and trophies on the way and all the Dj's ready to go !
No live bands at Rhyl the clue being we have NEVER had bands at the Rhyl Weekender so if you want bands this weekend aint for you folks
Looking forward to everyone having a great time and enjoying the weekend
I believe there are 10 accommodation units left? from the additional 30 more than last year that we have been able to add due to the popularity of the event so snap them up if you want staggering distance On Site accommodation
