🌙 Some cocktails honor tradition by rewriting it.
Tonight’s story is smoky, comforting, and unmistakably modern — this is the Penicillin.
✨ Story in a Glass – Ep.36: Penicillin ✨
Created in 2005 by Sam Ross at New York’s famous Milk & Honey bar, the Penicillin quickly became one of the most influential cocktails of the modern era.
Despite its name, it contains no medicine. Instead, it was designed to feel like comfort in a glass. Made with blended Scotch whisky, fresh lemon juice, honey-ginger syrup, and finished with a float of smoky Islay Scotch, the Penicillin is bright, warming, and deeply layered.
It respects the foundations of classic cocktail making while embracing a contemporary approach to flavor. Familiar, yet entirely its own.
