🌙 Not every sweet drink plays nice.
Tonight’s story has a little bite — bold, vibrant, and slightly dangerous. This is the El Diablo.
✨ Story in a Glass – Ep.35: El Diablo ✨
El Diablo first appeared in Trader Vic’s Book of Food and Drink (1946), a cocktail that stood out for its unexpected combination of flavors. At a time when tropical drinks leaned sweet, this one introduced a darker edge.
Made with tequila, crème de cassis, fresh lime juice, and ginger beer, El Diablo is bright yet spicy, sweet yet sharp. The richness of blackcurrant meets the kick of ginger, balanced by citrus and the strength of tequila.
It’s playful at first sip — but there’s a twist waiting underneath.
