Da Lat is not only about flowers and mist, but also has a very unique “specialty”: its winding slopes stretching through pine forests and valleys. Riding a motorbike uphill in Da Lat brings a mix of mild tension on the throttle and an exciting sense of adventure as each curve opens up to a fresh, peaceful view. The sound of the engine blends with the cool air, turning every stretch of road into a memorable experience. When visiting Da Lat, you should definitely try conquering these slopes at least once to truly feel the rhythm of this mountain city.

Đà Lạt không chỉ có hoa và sương, mà còn có một “đặc sản” rất riêng: những con dốc uốn lượn nối tiếp nhau giữa rừng thông và thung lũng. Lái xe máy leo dốc ở Đà Lạt mang cảm giác vừa căng thẳng nhẹ nơi tay ga, vừa thú vị khi từng khúc cua mở ra một khung cảnh mát lành, yên ả. Tiếng máy xe hòa cùng không khí se lạnh khiến mỗi đoạn đường trở thành một trải nghiệm đáng nhớ. Đến Đà Lạt, nhất định nên thử một lần chinh phục những con dốc ấy để cảm nhận trọn vẹn nhịp thở của phố núi.

When you’re backpacking on a tight budget, accommodation is one of your biggest expenses—but it doesn’t have to be. After months of traveling through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Indonesia, I’ve figured out a few go-to methods for finding cheap and even unforgettable places to crash.

1. Start with Hostel Apps (but filter wisely)
I always book my first night or two using Hostelworld or Booking.com. I sort by lowest price, then dive into the reviews. I don’t mind basic, but it has to be clean—and ideally social. I once scored a $4/night dorm in Da Nang that felt like a backpacker family.

2. Use Facebook Backpacker Groups
These groups are hidden gems. I’ve found places that aren’t even listed online—like a family-run homestay in Dalat. Someone posted a few photos, I sent a DM, and boom—cozy stay with free dinners and local vibes.

3. Just Walk Around
When I arrive in a smaller town, I walk. That’s how I found a $5 riverside guesthouse in Kampot, hammock included. No app, no listing—just vibes.

4. Ask Other Travelers
Backpackers love to share tips. I’ve discovered local apps, unknown hostels, and deals just by chatting in hostel kitchens or on night buses. Don’t be shy—ask around.

5. Stay Longer for Discounts
If you like a place, stay longer. Most hosts offer lower prices for 5+ nights. I knocked $2 off my nightly rate in Pai just by asking.
