The Rock Collective is the group of multi-media & multi-genre artists that put on The Rock Lounge monthly. The Rock Lounge is "an informal, non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing artistic energy in the Virgin Islands." Thomas for the sharing of music, creative writing, and visual and performance art." So created, The Rock Lounge is a home and an active breeding place, both physically and f

iguratively "holding space" for various artists. A wide variety of poets, writers, visual artists, musicians and crafts-persons have been featured at The Rock Lounge from it's inception to this very day without a permanent trace of documentation outside of one aired video (The Rock Fling, '03), some television interviews (on Studio 2, '08), occasional write-ups in various local media sources and some national publications (Calabash Journal, '07). On a monthly occasion, this not-so-secret event has become a haven for a range of creative people or those simply seeking inspiration, and continues to encourage; from those still in the womb to some barely forming sentences, school-aged children to young adults, mature adults to the wise elderly to willingly and eagerly participate in the sharing of thoughts, feelings and points of view limited only by the closing time of our venue.

A short and simple tribute to Dr. Addie Ottley, a giant of a man in our Virgin Islands, not only in Communications and business at WSTA Radio or WTJX TV, as a Government leader but within the community as he informed, entertained and helped to comfort so many of us throughout the decades.
