Update: Gilbert was transferred from Hospital to rehabilitation facility on 10/12. He is going to get intensive speech, physical and occupational therapy. He can speak very slowly with some slurring. He is unable to swallow so a feeding tube has been placed in his stomach to give him nutrients and medications. He also is unable to walk, move his arm or hand on the left side. We ask that you continue to keep him in your prayers. Our children and their significant others have been a great help. My new home at night after work is a chair next to him to make him as comfortable as possible considering his condition and circumstances.
In a blink of a eye your whole life can change. Appreciate every step, every movement, every word that you can speak, every taste of food or drink as tomorrow that’s not promised. We continue to pray for a full recovery. He is focused on his therapeutic sessions and is giving it his all. I am very proud of him.
