Movement Long Island's home for House Music!!! MOVEMENT was founded in 2009 to give lovers of Deep & Soulful House Music on Long Island a place to call our own.

Our goal is to gather all the like minded DJ's, Producers, Artists, Dancers and Party goers and give us a home right here on our own turf. While not only giving our talented local DJs a place to shine and play the Music they love, Movement will also bring in the very best DJ's you all know and love from the new up and comer to the super stars. Our goal will remain focused not only the music but fr

In the summer of 2009,Long Island House DJ Rob James was attending a boat party thrown by the legendary "Little" Louie Vega when he noticed the boat was heavily attended by his fellow Long Island house heads. It was at this moment that he that he came up with the idea for his own party. Seeing so many heads from his own area having such a great time to such amazing music he said to himself..."If all these people are willing to drive 45 minutes to Manhattan to hear this music and have such a great time then why shouldn't we have a party like this on our own turf?...We just need someone to unite us!!"
Immediately calling on every DJ,Producer,Promotor, Artist, House Head, Dancer and friend he knows, Rob got to work and Movement was born. He found a local venue called The Artful Dodger in Huntington Village and quickly built up a party that had never been done on LI before. Focused on the music and the vibe, Movement was unique. Not only did this party focus on local Deep & Soulful House DJ talent but also drew in names like "Little" Louie Vega, Tony Humpries, JellyBean, Danny Krivit, Mr. V, Tony Touch,Ruben Toro, John Cutler, Romain and many more as guest DJ's. Movement ran strong for over 2 years and was still till this day the only true Deep & Soulful house music party on Long Island and we are very proud and thankful for that. After a 3 year hiatus Movement has finally found a new home and will return on a new night with a bigger room, better location, bigger sound system and of coarse the same talented DJ's and Artists that you've come to expect. Movement will continue to deliver the best in Deep & Soulful House Music on Long Island and we just need you to join our Movement. See you on the dance floor.
