I had the opportunity to sit down with the Eladio Diaz Eladio Díaz 72 Anniversary North and South Edition, and all I can say is this cigar reminded me why I fell in love with this hobby in the first place. The Commissioners Humidor Approved.
From the opening draw, it was smooth and refined, offering notes of cream, cedar, roasted nuts, and just enough spice to keep things interesting. As the smoke progressed, hints of cocoa, espresso, and a subtle sweetness began to emerge, each flavor building on the last without ever fighting for attention. It was one of those ci**rs that makes you slow down, put the phone away, and simply enjoy the moment.
The construction was exceptional. The draw was effortless, the burn nearly perfect, and the ash held strong. But beyond the performance, what stood out to me most was the balance. It never tried too hard to impress. It just quietly delivered an elegant, memorable experience from beginning to end.
This isn’t a cigar you rush through. It’s a cigar you appreciate. One that reminds you that experience, patience, and craftsmanship still matter.
For me, this was an outstanding smoke and one I’ll remember for a long time. If you’re fortunate enough to get your hands on one, do yourself a favor: pour a good drink, find a comfortable chair, and give it the time it deserves.
