BACK-2-BACK

Allegory x Room for Improvement x Snappy’s

We’re thrilled to announce that Portland, Maine legends Room for Improvement will be taking over Allegory this Monday from 5 to 8 PM.

And because one good party deserves another, they’ll be heading to Snappy’s later that night for round two from 10 PM until late.

Room for Improvement started as a joke about all-time great dive bar names, and like so many of the best jokes, and best bars, it got a little carried away. Built by friends, for friends, Room for Improvement has always been about creating a place to meet them, make them, and work alongside them.

It’s a neighborhood spot where the cocktails are seriously tasty, but never take themselves too seriously. Named one of Punch’s 5 Best New Bars in America in 2023, recognized by Esquire for one of the Best Martinis in America, and featured on 50 Best’s Discovery list, it’s a halfway decent bar, by their own admission.

Behind the bar will be Avrid, owner of Room for Improvement, alongside bartenders Eric and Haley.

Big thanks to Rémy Martin and Fever-Tree for helping us bring it all together.

See all of your beautiful faces Monday.

Daniel Huitt, one of Allegory’s newest team members, began his hospitality career in Nashville at Barcelona Wine Bar, where he started as a food runner and worked his way through every front-of-house position before transitioning behind the bar.

After moving to D.C. in 2023, he continued developing his style and experience at acclaimed concepts including Petite Cerise, Dauphine’s, Baan Mae, and Albi. Since 2025, he has been part of the team at Allegory, contributing across multiple roles including bar prep, barbacking, serving, and hosting.

His approach to bartending is shaped by a deep understanding of hospitality, with a focus on thoughtful service, adaptability, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Daniel is behind the bar tonight, so come see him in action!

Camping. The campfire would crackle as your parents allowed you to stay up late beside it. Smoke would cling to your hoodie and water your eyes while marshmallows melted on the tree branch you broke off. Somehow, the darkness was scary, but mystical. For those few nights, the whole world was pine trees, stars, and the belief that summer, or winter, could last forever.

Greg Long bottled that feeling in All That She Carried, and we’re bringing it to you in hopes it lands right where your childhood memories live.

All That She Carried // Michter’s Rye, D’Ussé VSOP Cognac, pecan trail mix, tamarind, mushroom marshmallow, peat, Space S’more

We had a little FOMO yesterday watching so many of our amazing friends across the U.S. deservedly named Top 10 in their respective categories, but today, we are over the moon to announce that our menu, Banned in DC, has been nominated as one of the Top 10 World’s Best Cocktail Menus at the Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards!

Our team worked tirelessly for over two years to bring Banned in DC to life, and it was worth the wait. The cocktail R&D alone took close to a year, with every team member bringing nothing but bangers. Not a single skip on this album.

Featuring 17 incredible miniature scenes by local artist Katie Miller, designed with Dian Holton, written by Creative Director Deke Dunne, and published by Spotz Studios, the project brings a haunting children’s-book-style story to life in a stunning hardback menu.

Unfortunately, the message and warnings conveyed through this menu are even more relevant today than they were when we first began the project. Thank you to Tales of the Cocktail, their media partner Food and Wine, and awards sponsor Australian Bitters for this incredible platform to help share that message.

Congratulations to all the other nominees, many of whom are dear friends of ours. It is truly humbling to be listed alongside you all.

Cheers, and we hope to see all of your beautiful faces in New Orleans!

With Banned in DC, zero-proof doesn’t live on the sidelines.

Our non-alcoholic cocktails are built with the same imagination and technique as everything else on the menu. No shortcuts. No “mocktail” energy. No watered-down version of the real thing.

Whether you’re sober, taking a break, staying clear, or just curious, you deserve a drink that feels intentional. Something with structure, texture, balance, and a finish that actually stays with you.

We clarify. We freeze-dry. We use enzymes. We obsess over the details.

The only thing missing is alcohol.

One of our beefs with Old Fashioned riffs is that too many of them end up tasting exactly like an Old Fashioned.

Saturday Morning Cartoons flips the script: a nostalgia-soaked cocktail that tastes like the best parts of growing up. We asked ourselves what an Old Fashioned might look like if it spent every Saturday morning watching Cartoon Network, and the result is familiar yet totally unexpected.

And don’t worry: no milk was harmed in the making of this cocktail.
