A moment in time with abuela Isabel making flan. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, she’s a fierce and independent woman that helped raise us. Her stories are epic- from her quail egg business (she had a quail farm and would sell quail eggs to fancy restaurants in Buenos Aires when no one else had them), to her farm on the pampa in the north of Argentina where she raised cattle, our childhood is filled with memories of her. Learning to hunt on the farm, watching sunsets and hearing the birdsong along the flat pampa horizons, the smell of Lady finger cookies dipped in earl grey tea, riding horses to the creek. Flan was always on the table and her recipe lives on
