This good boy didn’t ask for his world to fall apart… but here he is, trying to understand it anyway.

Cuda is about 5 years old and a petite ~40 lbs. He came to us with his canine companion after their beloved owner passed away. They were already separated here, and we truly feel they can live happily apart — as long as Cuda has another calm fur friend in his next home to coexist with, hang out with, and be forever buddies.

Recently, his fur friend was adopted.
And now… Cuda is alone. 💔

He doesn’t understand why. He cries in his kennel, confused and scared, wondering where his people — and his friend — went. The shelter is loud, unfamiliar, and overwhelming, and this environment is clearly not where he’s meant to be.

🐶 What we know about sweet Cuda:
• About 5 years old, ~40 lbs
• Dog friendly with a calm, submissive female dog (older, mellow girls would be perfect)
• Enjoys going for walks
• Does not like being left alone or unattended outside
• Struggling emotionally in the shelter — he cries in his kennel
• Keeps his crate very clean — he’s a tidy, polite little guy
• Not cat tested

Cuda is such a good boy. He’s quiet, respectful, and gentle. He doesn’t take up much space at all — just a little dog with a big heart who wants to be someone’s little forever friend.

The last time we posted Cuda, he didn’t get much love… and that broke our hearts. He deserves more. He deserves another chance. He deserves a family to remind him that life can still be safe and warm again.

As temperatures drop dangerously low throughout much of the country this week, having a plan in place to keep your animals warm can save their lives.

Make sure your pets have shelter from freezing temperatures, wind chill and ice, and be aware of hazards that can harm animals such as rock salt and antifreeze. Simple steps can make a lifesaving difference.
