Hi Maverick Dancers!

This Saturday, August 29th, we have a special treat for you. We have two substitute line dance teachers, Linda Montoya and Erika Raymond. Neither are strangers to the Maverick. Erika, you probably know, used to teach with us at the Maverick for many years until she opened her Art Studio “Broken Heart Art” (https://www.facebook.com/p/Broken-Heart-Art-100046296025667/) and started teaching at Tucson Estates. Linda has been a member of the Saguaro Strutters Line Dance team for many years and has been teaching line dancing and Quinceañera dances for many years as well. You may have also seen the big Sunflowers she makes when she brought them to the Maverick in weeks past. Both teachers are excellent and fun teachers!

This Wednesday, August 26th, we are teaching for the 1st class, "B.O.B. This Class is Open to the Public!

Hi Voyager Dancers!

Well, it's here ... our last class at the Voyager! It's hard to believe this day is here. We have so many wonderful memories of our time here at the Voyager. We want to especially thank Gloria and Deanna, without whose roles this would never have happened. Thank you both for bringing us to the Voyager! And thank you to all our students over the past few years! Your support and friendships will never be forgotten!

For this final class, I wanted to teach some of my favorite dances, one old and two new. All are dances we've taught previously at the Voyager.

For the Basic class starting at 9:00 AM, I could not think of a better dance than my favorite, “Timber” (https://youtu.be/H1xco_KpZEU) by Paulette Musgrave, to the song “Timber” by Pitbull featuring Ke$ha. This is a 40 count 4 wall easy beginner line dance with no tags or restarts.

For the Beginner 1 class starting at 9:45 AM, we are teaching "Project" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1p0n6GEDXQ) by Amy Christian to the song "Project" by Chase McDaniel. This is a 32 count 4 wall beginner line dance with 2 restarts.

So just a reminder that Elaine and I will be here next Friday and the following Friday, August 14th and 21st. There is no class on Friday, August 28th and Ana will be starting on Friday, September 4th. We have enjoyed dancing with you all for the past six years and will miss you all so much!
