October is almost here, and we’re showing up for the women in our lives, and reminding you to show up for yourself. 💕
But this isn’t a once-a-year conversation, checking in on your health matters in October and every other month too, so consider this your nudge to check in , whatever the calendar says.
Breast can hit a lot closer to home than you’d think. Recently, someone in our community, and a dear friend of mine, was diagnosed at just 33. It’s a reminder that this doesn’t only happen to “someone else,” and that it can affect women at any age.
That’s why we’re proud to support the K & J Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser. All month long, Pausa will match every dollar donated 100%, and all proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to help fund lifesaving research.
🎀 About 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.
🎀 About 1 in 10 women diagnosed are under 45.
🎀 Rates in women under 50 are rising about 1.4% per year.
🎀 Roughly 66% of cases are caught at a localized stage, when treatment tends to work best.
So please, get checked, and keep getting checked regularly. Do the self-exam, book the appointment, ask the questions, and speak up when something feels off. Advocating for your health is one of the best things you can do for yourself and the people who love you.

“Earlier this year, breast cancer became a part of my story in a way I never expected. After being diagnosed myself, I knew I wanted to find a way to turn one of the hardest seasons of my life into something that could make a difference for others.
