Your local creator hub and collaborative ecosystem. We’ve evolved from a legacy event center into a creative sanctuary The Atrium has in business serving Promoters, Producers and Professionals. We provide services to our clients as a Restaurant, Lounge , Sound stage and Performance Venue .We are in the Atlanta area, centrally located in Stone Mountain, Georgia. The lower level has two separate v

enues separated by the main lobby that is located in the center of the facility. The stages are set apart from each other which makes it possible to have a two shows going on simultaneously. We are producer friendly and capable of serving guests food and beverages comfortably while viewing shows as guest or as a studio audience. The facility holds 3,500 persons comfortably. The parking lot can accommodate the capacity without any parking fees. The Atrium doors are open to local, regional, national and international groups, as well as private social events, such as wedding receptions, birthday parties, and fashion shows. You can also book The Atrium for rehearsals and for meetings that will require a large space.

The Whispers - Rock Steady (1987)

The Whispers had been recording since the late 1960s and by 1987 they had already built one of the most respected catalogues in R&B. But nothing in their entire career hit quite like this.

Babyface and L.A. Reid, who were still relatively unknown producers at the time, cooked up that irresistible drum machine groove in their home studio. When it came time to name the song they looked around the room and noticed that all of their equipment racks were branded with the name Rocksteady. That was it. The title, the theme, and the whole concept came from the gear sitting in the corner of the room. Sometimes the best ideas are right in front of you.

What makes this song historically significant beyond just how good it sounds is that it was the first major hit that Babyface and L.A. Reid produced for an artist outside of their own circle. This was the record that announced them to the industry as a production duo capable of creating genuine hits for other people. Within a few years they would go on to shape the entire sound of 1990s R&B through LaFace Records, working with TLC, Toni Braxton, Usher, and Outkast. Rock Steady was the starting gun for all of that.

The groove itself is undeniable. That drum machine figure hits hard on the one, leaves just enough space, and locks in with the bass in a way that feels both mechanical and completely alive at the same time. The Whispers ride it with the kind of effortless vocal harmony that only comes from nearly two decades of performing together. It hit number one on the Billboard R&B chart and peaked at number seven on the Hot 100, becoming the biggest commercial moment of their entire career . follow (us) mutara Gervais

YOU’VE HEARD “BAM BAM” A THOUSAND TIMES… BUT DO YOU KNOW SISTER NANCY’S STORY? 🇯🇲🔥

One of the most recognizable recordings in reggae history, Sister Nancy’s “Bam Bam” became a piece of musical DNA that traveled far beyond Jamaica.

The record has been sampled and reimagined throughout hip-hop and popular music — appearing in records connected to Lauryn Hill, Kanye West, JAY-Z & Damian Marley and influencing generations of artists who came after her.

But here’s the crazy part…

Sister Nancy has said she didn’t fully realize just how massive “Bam Bam” had become internationally until years later — including hearing her own voice unexpectedly while watching the 1998 cult classic Belly. 🤯

Years later, hearing the song used commercially helped push her to investigate the business behind her music and fight for her rights.

It’s another reminder that some of the records that shaped THE CULTURE have stories behind them that are just as important as the music itself.

“Nasty Girl” – Vanity 6 (TopPop, 1982)

A sizzling performance of “Nasty Girl” by the all-female group Vanity 6, fronted by the unforgettable Vanity, with Brenda Bennett and Susan Moonsie completing the trio.

Charlie Murphy telling the story of the night Prince and the Revolution challenged them to basketball will NEVER get old.
