We sadly lost our friend, Red Piotrowski on December 15th. We loved our visits on Saturday afternoons and all the fun we had with the Kentucky Derby parties and other fun occasions. One of the best parties ever at Archie's was Red and Barb's Anniversary party. They celebrated Mardi Gras style and we had a blast!

One of my favorite Red stories is the time he came in on a Wednesday or Thursday night alone. I asked where Barb was and he said he dropped her off shopping. He wanted no part of that so he came down for "one" manhattan. Well the poker machine was hot and one became two... you know the story. Needless to say Barb was not happy he was late.

Thanks for the memories, you will be missed

We lost our friend Faye in October. She was a fixture for parties at Archie's and outside of Archie's. She supported many events in the community and we could always rely on her for a helping hand. She had a warm smile and caring heart.

Just before she passed I found a photo of her with John Corabi when he played my farewell party. I had printed an 8x10 and was hoping to give to her at our Slobberknocker show in November. I kept telling her I have a surprise for her and she would reply she had one for me too. Sadly I never got the chance to give it to her.

She was a member of our trivia team, the Dead Skunks, and was so supportive of all the bands Archie and I played in. The slumber parties, chili cookoffs, sporting events and all other parties were much more fun with Faye in attendance. We will miss you and never forget you. -Booman!

We lost our dear friend Barb (Hughes) Jelinski in May of this year. Barb was a firecracker of energy and a wonderful friend. From volleyball to the famous Hughes parties, Barb was a ray of sunshine and so much fun to be around. We miss you Barb!

Ron Carlson passed away in February. He was a fun loving guy and we always enjoyed his visits. Ron would stop in with the crew after their union meetings and we always had a good time. He loved a good joke including the time Archie "added" hair to one of his photos. I don't know, I think he looked pretty good just the way he was!

Maris Rushevics was more than a customer, he was a good friend. He had the gift of conversation and a wonder wit. He treated everyone with respect. He wasn't afraid to let loose and could sing a mean, "L.A. Woman" on karaoke nights.

Maris was a big part of the Badgers/Packer parties and enjoyed the bands and special events at Archie's. Maris, along with his wife Cheryl, were a big part of the Hail Mary Golf event that raised money for organ donations. Maris was one of the coolest guys you could ever know. His sense of humor and stories will be missed. Oh! He was a Hell of a lawyer too!

Like Roger Shephard, Cheryl West was a customer on Archie's first night and final night in business. Cheryl was a hairdresser and I'll never forget the "body wave" she gave me in high school or the time she saved my Sister when she dyed her hair jet black. I treasure the autographed picture she got for me of the band, Poison. Cheryl was a rocker and rubbed elbows with the stars from her days in Chicago and did Ricky Rockett's hair when Poison was up and coming.

She was a ball of energy that always made you feel great. Nascar parties, bands and just for the hell of it, if Cheryl was there you were in for a good time! We lost Cheryl in April and sadly I could only find one photo of Cheryl in the archives. I know there are more but I just couldn't find them. If I track down more I will add to this post. We miss you Cheryl!

We said goodbye to Louise Vicker in August. She was a fun, loving and caring lady that knew how to have a good time! Always a smile for you and a kind word. We always looked forward to her coming in on Saturday afternoons or seeing her at the many parties. She was one cool cat!

Today we remember our friend and neighbor, Kirk Fadner. He was a "Big Brother" to me and a great neighbor to Archie & Sue. Kirk helped start my first collection (Beer Cans. I actually put some in the washing machine to clean them...) and shared his love of music with me. I remember going across the street to bug him and he would always let me follow him around. Some of my favorite times were listening to records with Kirk. He turned me on The Beatles, The Who and many other great bands. He always made time for that kid across the street.

Kirk would stop into Archie's when he would come to town from Minneapolis. After visiting with his family and friends he would pop down for a couple Points and great conversations. We shared a lot of good times and memories.

Kirk passed in January, shy of his 60th birthday by a few months. We all miss you! We'll meet again at the end of this "Long and Winding Road"
