I usually leave the press releases to our marketing team, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to congratulate these individuals update you on some exciting changes and additions within the Morgan Square Hospitality Group family.
First, congratulations to Paige Story on becoming the new General Manager of Gerhard’s Café & Biergarten. Paige has been a beloved fixture at Gerhard’s for more than 16 years, and chances are if you’ve dined with us during that time, she helped make your evening special. Her dedication to genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and ability to make every guest feel welcome have helped define the Gerhard’s experience for countless people over the years. She is adored by guests and staff alike, and we are incredibly excited to watch her continue to shine in this new role. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of watching Paige grow into not only an amazing manager and leader, but also an incredible mother to Lillian. Gerhard’s has always been built around warmth, consistency, and treating people like family, and there is nobody better suited to carry that tradition forward.
We’re also thrilled to welcome Chris Grommer back to the MSHG team as he steps into a multi-unit management role supporting the day-to-day operations of Delaney’s Irish Pub, Gerhard’s Café & Biergarten, and Isla’s on the Square. After college, Chris began his management career in Myrtle Beach before eventually returning home to the family business, where he spent many years helping continue the traditions established by his parents, Gerhard and Mary Grommer. Along the way, he developed a reputation for building strong teams, fostering meaningful relationships, and carrying forward the kind of genuine hospitality that has made Gerhard’s a Spartanburg institution for decades. Following a two-year hiatus working locally in Spartanburg and continuing to build successful teams, we are excited to officially welcome Chris back to the MSHG family. One of Chris’s greatest strengths has always been his ability to foster genuine relationships throughout the Spartanburg community, and we are excited to see the impact he will continue to make across all of our concepts. Chris is a proud Spartanburg resident, and we are so happy to welcome him back alongside his wonderful family, wife Shannon and daughters Emma and Zoe.
Finally, congratulations to Chris Brymer on his new role as Director of Operations for MSHG and MSHG Catering & Events. Chris has been with us for more than 9 years, starting as part of the management team at Delaney’s before growing into a multi-unit leadership role as we expanded with Gerhard’s and Isla’s on the Square. Beyond overseeing day-to-day operations, Chris has played a major role in helping develop Morgan Square Hospitality Group into one of the premier hospitality groups in our region. He is deeply respected and appreciated by both our management team and hourly staff. A Roebuck native and Spartanburg City resident, Chris has also helped lead many large-scale events that promote our city and county while serving on boards and committees for organizations including Spartanburg Little Theatre, Hub City Hog Fest, Sauce Wars for Backpack Buddies, and the March of Dimes Signature Chef Auction. When he’s not working, Chris can usually be found playing music, baking, and spending time with his wife Sydni and their two corgis.
Please join myself and business partner, Kevin Moore, in congratulating Paige, Chris Grömmer, and Chris Brymer on these well-deserved opportunities. The future is bright for MSHG because of people like them.
