Recap of Mr. Mambo's last night 5-30-2026
Mr. Mambo’s was on HIGH last night. 🔥✨
It felt elevated, alive, and beautifully charged from the first step to the last song. To everyone who came through for this special night featuring the beautiful and supremely talented Jennifer Tsuha, THANK YOU. Truly. ❤️
Much love to everyone who traveled in and made the room feel bigger than the DMV alone. Roll call with DMV, Baltimore, Richmond, VA, and VA Beach were all present and accounted for. Your presence was seen and felt good in the house. 🌍🔥🙏🏽
A very special thank you to David Cuevas of Ardiente Dance Company for making the connection with Jennifer Tsuha and helping bring her to Mr. Mambo's. David brought her to the DMV for Ardiente’s advanced class earlier in the day, then connected the dots so Jennifer could also join us at Mr. Mambo’s to teach, perform, and social dance with the community. Collabos are how scenes grow. 💪🤝🔥 Much love, respect, and gratitude. 🙏🏽
Jennifer’s open level Footwork class at Mr. Mambo's was full of enthusiastic students READY to receive the work. And baby, they were locked in. 👀🔥 She taught with clarity, joy, technique, sabor, and that kind of light that makes people want to try harder without feeling intimidated.
Students of all levels were reaching for the fundamentals, the body movement, the details, the musicality, the feeling. The room was hungry for the knowledge, and Jennifer gave it with intention and made it accessible for all. ✨
The remaining class lineup was giving useful, stylish, and dance-floor approved. ✅💃🏽
Much love to Brandon Carretero and Yaritza Garay Torres teaching a wonderful Salsa ON1 class full of fundamentals, footwork, and leadable turn patterns that dancers could actually take straight to the floor. 💪🏽🔥 Big love to Gabriela Alejandra and Eric Teran for a Bachata class filled with groove, technique, connection, and patterns that made sense in the body and not just in theory. 👏💪
And the music? The DJs clearly understood the assignment and submitted extra credit. 🎧🔥
DJ Stephen Greene kept the Salsa floor rocking from beginning to end and DJ Yardie Matthew Strudwick kept the Bachata floor alive, connected, and glowing with dancers who were clearly not ready to go home. Both rooms had that “one more song” energy all night. 🎶✨
Jennifer Tsuha’s solo was ELECTRIC. ⚡🔥
She came out blazing and held the audience in the palm of her hand. Sharp. Powerful. Musical. Fully present. The applause kept erupting with the roars of approval. The audience knew that we were watching a mighty impact performer in full command of the room. 👏🏽🔥
And after the show, Jennifer was a trooper while graciously and joyfully danced with the queue of leads waiting for their moment to experience her magic on the social floor. 💃🏻✨
For many dancers, getting to share even one dance with an artist of her caliber is a memory etched in stone. And she met the community with warmth, generosity, and joy. ❤️
Special thanks to Capital Congress for sponsoring the event and hosting a text raffle for winners to receive a 4-night party pass! 🎟️🔥
You can still get discounted tickets to Capital Congress, going down June 18–23, by using promo codes MRMAMBO or MRMAMBOS at www.capitalcongress.com 😌💸 Thank me later at the congress 😉
Much love to Hollywood Ballroom for hosting Ardiente’s advanced workshop earlier in the day and Mr. Mambo’s social last night — keeping the venue clean, safe, and ready for the community to dance, gather, sip, hydrate, and celebrate. 🥂💧✨
Videos may take a little time because the tech gremlins are still acting brand new, but footage will be loading over the next week or two. 🙃📹
Our next Mr. Mambo’s is Saturday, June 27 at the Hollywood Ballroom.
We are eternally appreciative of the DMV Latin dance community and everyone who continues to support this Social.
See you soon on the dance floor. ❤️🔥
