Hello bar chord family! I have some bittersweet but exciting news to finally announce.. the bar has been sold and our last night open will be this Saturday, February 19th!!!
I started this bar one month shy of 5 years ago building it literally from the floor up, making it everything I wanted in a place that people could feel at home in. There’s a lot I’m going to miss in that tiny room but most of all I’m going to miss all your beautiful faces packing the joint every weekend. You are literally the best crowd of any bar I’ve ever been to. It never felt like serving customers to me, it was hanging with friends and for that I will be eternally grateful to you all.
In case the rumors haven’t reached you yet, we’re not just closing the bar and restaurant next door, we’ve actually sold those spaces and I expect them to do great things with what’s next. I can’t say here now who is involved in this endeavor but I can tell you he’s one of the kindest, friendliest, hardest working people in the business. I’m over the moon that I get to pass the torch to someone as amazing as him. There’s literally no one more deserving of a second opportunity and I wish him all the luck and success in the world. Everyone be sure to make this your new go-to spot once they open their new concept!
Finally, as it’s our last hoorah, if you’d like to join us Saturday night we’re going to send the place off with a bang with ridiculous drink specials and an end of the night toast and group picture. I can’t thank you all enough for making bar chord what it is because it would’ve been nothing without you. Best wishes and much love.
