Hello Tanguerxs!

As several events have been reopening, we have received some inquiries regarding the return of Tango Misto.

At this time, Tango Misto remains on hiatus, and (as much as I miss your embraces, and I know you miss my cupcakes) we are NOT hosting dances or in person classes.

I highly recommend dropping in to Michelle's Tangosize classes to help keep up your skills, or working with any of the local teachers offering private lessons for masked and fully vaccinated dancers -- and you are always more than welcome to reach out to your beloved Hostess & Cupcake Queen at any time to chat.

Happy Second Anniversary to Tango Misto!

I'm amazed that it has already been two years since we began this journey together, and I'm so sad not to be celebrating with you all this year.
The safety of our community is still our highest priority and I'm looking forward when it is safe to embrace you all again.

Your Hostess,
Gin

Just wanted to check in to say that the Tango Misto Team are still here, and we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation!

In accordance with public health and government mandates, dance halls and other social venues are closed until at least March 31st. There is a strong possibility that these closures will extend further. The health and safety of our community is one of our highest priorities, and we are committed to following all guidelines for protecting our community members.

We will continue to post updates here, to the Tango Misto page, and cancellations will be reflected on the AllSeattleTango calendar.

Please stay healthy, stay safe, and we look forward to dancing with you again in the future!

IMPORTANT NOTE

Tango Misto is still CANCELLED until further notice.

The local situation with COVID-19 is still developing, and new information and public health guidelines are emerging daily. Because of this, we are reviewing the situation on a week by week basis, and currently we do not know when we will resume events.

As of March 4th, King County (under advisement of Public Health) strongly urged (but did not mandate) all area community groups to cancel or postpone all large group events of 10+ people. As of March 11th, all events of 250+ people are officially banned, and more strict mandatory measures may come soon.

We will continue to post updates here, to the Tango Misto event, and cancellations will be reflected on the AllSeattleTango calendar.

Please stay healthy, stay safe, and we look forward to dancing with you again in the future!

IMPORTANT COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT

In addition to the new cases of COVID-19 in King and Snohomish counties, cold and flu season are still going on, and there are a number of viruses going around our community. Some members of our community are highly susceptible to respiratory illness, have compromised immune systems, or are in contact with people who are considered high risk. Tango Misto and Om Culture take the health of our community very seriously, and we strongly urge you to take the following precautions to keep us all healthy.

***Get plenty of sleep, manage your stress, drink plenty of water and fluids, eat nutritious food.
***Stay home if you are feeling ill, especially if you are presenting with any cold or flu-like symptoms.
***Strongly consider staying home if another member of your household is ill. Even if you are not currently showing symptoms, you may be carrying and shedding the virus.
***Wash your hands, frequently, and with soap. If this is not possible, use hand sanitizer, but note that washing your hands with soap and warm water is the more effective method.
***Avoid touching your face, nose, mouth, or eyes.
***Sneeze and cough into tissues or the crook of your elbow/sleeve. Turn away from other people as well.
***Throw away all used tissues, and wash your hands or use hand sanitizer after coughing, sneezing, or using tissues.
***Consider minimizing person to person contact such as shaking hands.
***Do not share cups, glasses, drinks, etc. Tango Misto provides compostable PLA cups and markers to write your name on your cup to help avoid accidentally drinking after someone else.
***Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at your home and work to minimize your exposure and the spread of any viruses or germs. Kitchens and bathrooms are considered “hot zones” that are likely to have higher concentrations of infectious agents. Keyboards, phones, and doorknobs should also be regularly cleaned.

OmCulture has invested in paper towel dispensers with compostable unbleached paper towels for the restrooms. We will continue to provide hand sanitizer and tissues.

In the event that illness does spread closer to our community, Tango Misto is prepared to cancel events. If this happens, this will be communicated via the Facebook Event, Tango Misto page, posts to relevant Facebook communities, and updates to the All Seattle Tango calendar.

Overall: Listen to the CDC and your State Health Department. Be cautious of other sources. Follow evidence-based suggestions, and remain calm but take these viruses seriously. Be responsible to yourself and to our community.
