WHAT: A completely unsanctioned Monster Energy cocktail pop-up featuring only the freshest, most delicious, and our absolute favorite flavors.

WHEN: Tuesday 8/25, 8PM-2AM

WHO: Naz and CJ behind the stick, with RECKLESS LIFE (CJ/Maxwell) spinning the choicest ’80s rock’n’roll cuts.

WHY: Long story short, because we f**kin’ love Monster, the superior and sophisticated energy drink. Alas, it is an unrequited love. Monster does not love us back. They disliked this idea, wanted nothing to do with it, and respectfully told us to go f**k ourselves.

Despite this rejection, we’re doing it anyway. Our love remains strong, steadfast, and unshaken.

FOR REAL, WHY?? Our love of Monster is pure and honest. Love is a battlefield. Sometimes it’s one-sided. That’s OK.

We are thrilled that 2 of our favorite Belltown businesses are joining us as co-sponsors of the BYC stage at the Belltown Blast on 8/15! It is now the BYC / Crocodile / Cyclops stage!

Cyclops is the OG anchor of the neighborhood and on the Mount Rushmore of all-time Belltown establishments. We are over the moon to collaborate with them on this stage, but also on a million other things in the future.

And The Croc? What more needs to be said about the best venue around? A class organization, a legendary organization, and our big brother and big sister rolled into one. The new ownership and Hotel Croc reached out asking how they could be involved. We broke bread and brainstormed, and the best way is for us OGs to unite and bring 1st Avenue up to the Blast on 2nd.

This collaboration will continue on through bigger and brighter things to spotlight our beloved and magical home of Belltown.

Big, loud love to everyone involved in both these wonderful organizations who stepped up and contributed time, money, creativity, and passion to this annual killer event. Extra special shout-out to Vindicktive Wings, who supported and donated so the amazing bands can get paid nicely for this beautiful free party!

BELLTOWN BLAST INFO NIGHT!

On Saturday, August 15th, Belltown is coming together to throw the 2nd Annual Belltown Blast!

Spanning 2nd Ave from Battery to Lenora, this FREE, all-ages street fair will feature two music stages, wrestling, BMX, DJs, shopping, a dog show, live painting, and, most importantly, a celebration of our favorite Seattle neighborhood.

In true neighborhood fashion, we’re doing this ourselves, and we could use your help.

Join us in the basement from 5-9PM to learn more about the festival, donation, and volunteer opportunities. Meet the folks behind the festival and discover how you can get involved beyond simply coming down and partying with us!

This one’s for Trevor Dietz - a legend in the Dublin (and worldwide) music scene. As Fontaines D.C. manager, it was Trevor who reached out to us about having the lads DJ at the RnR Utopia.

He was the coolest and kindest, checking in and staying in touch over the years; we got along like a house fire.

After the DJ set, in the bleary-eyed, cold light of the morning, it was Trevor who proclaimed Screwdriver “the greatest rock n roll bar in the world.” He’d know, and that’ll go on our tombstone.

RIP Trevor. A connector, supporter, passionate fan of music, art, and humanity. A stone cold legend who changed the world and the lives of everyone who came in contact with him.

THE BEARD PLAYS COUNTRY RECORDS!

When Keith Edwards learned our hero and legendary PNW country selector Spencer Benavides was gonna be outta town for his birthday week (happy birthday, Spencer!), he drank a few Jack n Cokes as per, and declared he was gonna play records instead. So of course we called his bluff. After allegedly getting a hall pass for the night, he doubled down on his threat, and we said, YOU’RE ON!

Get on down to Screw tonight and request as many songs as you can that he didn’t bring, like he does to Maxwell weekly, and then gloat about filling the bar last time you played records here. C’mon, it’ll be fun!

But in all seriousness, we’re very excited for this!
