Wow! It's been 6 years since Wellevation started the Zero Proof movement in Seattle. A nightlife and wellness club experience focusing on art, herbal medicine, and connection. Against all the naysayers who said it would never catch on! Our groundbreaking success was epic! Thank you to everyone who made it happen! The pandemic really shut down the momentum, but since I have moved to Maui, I see that others have carried the torch. Washington will always be home and I have plans to make the next event like nothing you've ever experienced. I have been deep in my studies on behavioral psychoacoustics and you better believe that is going to be woven into the field for our next transmission.

Today, I am announcing that my master plan was to hold intentional sacred psychedelic parties. The big news is that I am on the ordination track at a multi sacrament psychedelic church that is federally recognized and protected. When Wellevation returns, it's going to be like nothing else! A 2021 study led by James W. Cannon and Alinka E. Greasley at the University of Leeds found that attending electronic dance music (EDM) events may be linked to higher levels of psychological and social well-being. Drawing from over 100 participant responses, the research identified four key factors—social connection, musical engagement, emotional experiences, and shared values—that were positively associated with well-being measures.

The findings push back against the idea that EDM culture is purely about escapism or excess. Instead, Cannon and Greasley suggest that the emotional and communal aspects of EDM participation—particularly the sense of belonging and mutual understanding—may support the development of empathy and emotional awareness over time. These associations remained stable across age, gender, and cultural background.

While the researchers don’t claim EDM events change personality traits, their work adds to the growing body of evidence that shared music experiences can play a meaningful role in supporting psychological health and social connectedness.
