🕸 It’s spooky season 🕸 and there’s enough dancing to celebrate all week long! So mark your calendars!

👻 Today, join us at Boogie In Bethesda for a fun night of dancing! Alec and Mara will be teaching how you can manipulate the slot in your dance to create interesting shapes and to enhance your floor craft!

🎃 This Thursday, have your fill of tricks AND treats at our special Halloween-Themed night at The Nest Movement Studio in Elkridge,MD! Come dressed up and dance with friends! Snacks and treats will be provided!

At 8pm, Alec and Mara will be teaching a special trick-filled lesson followed by time for individual attention from your instructors. We will also have extended time for social dancing!

We had such a great time at Atlanta Swing Classic! It was so much fun cheering on our friends, learning Gary and Susan's Advanced/All-Star Routine, partaking in SwingDiversity's Inclusivity workshop, forming new friendships, and dancing till sunrise! We absolutely cannot wait to do it all over again!

Congratulations to our DMV friends who competed at ASC last weekend! Here are some of their accomplishments:

🥈 Jalene Haramia won 2nd place in Advanced Strictly Swing
🥉 Kaylie Bergeson won 3rd place in Newcomer Jack & Jill

🏅 Elli Warner and David Carrington won 4th place in Advanced Jack & Jill
🏅 Alyx McCarthey won 5th place in Advanced J&J and made finals in Advanced Strictly Swing
👏 Gaia Read made finals in Intermediate J&J and in Advanced Strictly Swing

We have finally made a FB group page for our Thursdays at The Nest! ➡ The Jam x The Nest WCS Thursdays

Feel free to join this group page whether you are a regular at our classes at The Nest or you've been contemplating coming for sometime! We'll be using this group to connect and share ideas, ask questions, post photos/videos, or suggest topics/concepts that you would like for us to cover next class, etc.

◾ Note: Although we take walk-ins, pre-registration is *highly recommended* for our Thursday classes since our classes are limited in capacity (and we've been growing)! Be sure to sign up through The Nest here: https://www.nestmovementstudio.com/schedule
And remember, you do not need a partner to attend but our classes require a basic knowledge of WCS.

Wow, we had such a fun time at The Nest last night for our “ducks” class! 🦆 We are so thankful to have an amazing group of students attend our lessons+practice every week! We leave every Thursday feeling reenergized! ☺️

Catch us next at Philly Swing Classic this weekend! Jung, Alec, and Mara, will be available for private lessons all weekend long so send us a message to book a space in our schedule!

✨ Wednesday, Aug 25th, will be our last dance at The Great Room at Historic Savage Mills! ✨

While this venue is absolutely beautiful and creates an awesome event atmosphere, we are taking your feedback into account and are planning to relocate our Wednesday dances to a more central location. Our Wednesday dances will be on hold during the month of September while we monitor the delta variant and secure a new venue that all will be able to attend.

Stay updated via our newsletters and social media to know when and where our next dance will be!

In the meantime, we hope you can come join us this Wednesday to support our last dance at this venue. Let's make great memories together this Wednesday! 😊

📢 It's not too late to join our Open and Beginner I series! Plus join us for social dancing tonight at Boogie In Bethesda and tomorrow night at The Great Room at Historic Savage Mill!

TONIGHT get your fill of classic west coast swing at Boogie In Bethesda! Alec and Mara will be teaching the intermediate class on swivels/switches and how to incorporate them into your dance! After the beginner and intermediate classes, enjoy a fun evening of social dancing to a variety of popular WCS music including genres like pop, blues, soul, jazz, etc.! ✨

Then TOMORROW get your dose of modern swing at our Wednesday dances in Savage, MD and jump into our Open level and Beginner I series where we focus on technique and building up better and stronger dancers! Or simply join the party tomorrow night and dance to R&B, pop, and contemporary songs mainly by BIPOC artists and enjoy a "Sunday event late night" vibe with friends. 🎶
