Woodchopper's Ball

It features live bands, a drop-in beginner dance lesson, group classes, and a full bar & lounge. The Woodchopper's Ball is a weekly Tuesday swing dance event held at the beautiful historic Verdi Club in San Francisco. It features an all ages dance party with a different live band each week and a basic drop-in lesson, Beginning and Intermediate monthly group classes in Lindy Hop, Balboa, and/or Boogie Woogie, a large 2500 square-foot dance floor, and a full bar and lounge. Brought to you by Hep Jen and Ken Watanabe, long-time regular instructors and organizers of San Francisco's Lindy in the Park. Vaccination & face mask required. Schedule
6:30pm: Doors Open
7:00-8:00pm: Intermediate Lindy Hop monthly class
7:30pm-closing: Full Bar Open (21+ only)
8:00-9:00pm: Beginning Lindy Hop, and Balboa Fundamentals monthly classes
9:00-9:15pm: Basic (Drop-In) Swing Dance lesson
9:00-11:30pm: Live Music Dance Party

New monthly class series generally start the first Tuesday of each month and meet on Tuesdays for 4 weeks. Register and pay for the full series in advance to save money, or drop in and pay at the door for individual classes. No need to attend or sign up with a partner (we rotate partners frequently in class). Newcomers and singles welcome! All ages! The monthly classes are followed by a dance party with social dancing to a different live band each week. Admission only $10 (free for students enrolled in monthly classes) and includes a 15-minute drop-in basic swing dance lesson. When you're not dancing, enjoy a cocktail from the swanky vintage bar and lounge, mingle and socialize with the crowd, or sit back and listen to the music!
