🎶 Why Sound Lab?
DJs are at the core of so many events, but what we realized was that these same working DJs don’t get as many opportunities to connect with one another outside of a gig to learn and/or enhance specific skills that are crucial to their long term success in the industry. So here it is - your chance to pick some brains, have those conversations you haven’t had time to have, and learn from your peers.

ℹ️ Our second session of the day is about Finding your FLOW, and How to Build a Content System That Attracts the Gigs You Want! “This workshop is a 5-module framework designed to help DJs and creatives stop guessing and start posting with intention. You’ll use the FLOW Framework to get clear on what you’re working toward, tighten your message, lock in your content pillars, build a workflow you can repeat, and create a simple strategy you can run for the next 30 days.
You’ll leave with:
- A clear Dream Gig goal and what your content needs to do to support it
- A one-sentence throughline (your brand message) you can build around
- 3–5 content pillars and repeatable post ideas you can pull from anytime
- A sustainable workflow for capturing, organizing, repurposing, and scheduling content
- A platform + posting strategy and a 30-day action plan based on your FLOWS Scorecard results
If you’ve been posting consistently but not seeing the right opportunities—or you’re stuck and don’t know what to post—this is your reset. The goal isn’t to post more. The goal is to build a system that makes your content actually work for you.

Kutcorners is a Vancouver-based DJ, producer, and instrumentalist known for blending R&B, funk, and jazz-influenced sounds into house-driven remixes and original tracks. He frequently shares music production techniques via social media and in person workshops like Sound Lab 🧪

SUNDAY 4/19 in Oakland: Join us for a day filled with music, creativity, and learning designed to help you take your DJ and Music Production skills to the next level while connecting with some of the Industry’s top DJs.

🎶 Why Sound Lab?
DJs are at the core of so many events, but what we realized was that these same working DJs don’t get as many opportunities to connect with one another outside of a gig to learn and/or enhance specific skills that are crucial to their long term success in the industry. So here it is - your chance to pick some brains, have those conversations you haven’t had time to have, and learn from your peers.

The day begins at 3pm with a Networking Half Hour - this is your time to come through and get to know a few other DJs in your community, as well as your instructors for the day. Or maybe you schedule that creative brainstorm with that one DJ you wanted to collaborate with? Either way, we encourage you to bring your business cards and/or branded stickers as well to share and connect.

At 3:30pm, we will officially kick off the Workshop portion of our day. For this round, we are happy to feature the following workshops one after another so that everyone can enjoy taking BOTH sessions - yay!
Session 1 - Learn music production techniques and explore a classic track breakdown and recreation with Matt “Kutcorners” Perry.
Session 2 -DJ Flow teaching us how execute Marketing with Purpose: this workshop is a 5-module framework designed to help DJs and creatives stop guessing and start posting with intention.

As a part of your participation fee for the workshops, you will also walk away with a 6 month Serato Producer Suite voucher. That by itself covers your investment to participate!

At 6pm, all DJs are encouraged to participate in our Open Decks session. 🎶
