After 8+ years, we hosted the final Hot Rod at the Powerhouse on February 9, 2020. After 95 editions we wanted to take a little break while we plan what’s next.
Big love to all of the DJ’s, who joined us over the years; Donald C Baird, Derek B, Jon Ginoli, Anna Conda (Glendon Hyde), John Fu***ng Carwright (Lyddle Jean), Sergio Fedasz, BearZBub (Victor Jones), Led Fropez (Fred Lopez), Brontez Purnell, Luna SF, Kenneth L. Kemp, Kiddie (Mark Lopez), LePerv (Kevin Sniecinski), Chicken (Tom Kern Barber), Gayle Rubin, Hoku Mama Swamp (Hokulani Beale), Omar Perez, Pickle Surprise, and Pinchepobrecito (Jose Ivan Sanchez).
Big love as well to the Powerhouse Pit Crew (bartenders, doormen, go-go dancers, and coat check) who kept us lubricated and cared for; as well as our loyal groupies who showed up consistently to hangout and listen to some rock-n-roll on the second Sunday of the month.
Thanks to Kochina Rude (Cary Escovedo) for hosting with us for part of the run. And most of all, thanks to Scott Richard Peterson for always being generous and supportive, for giving the party a chance, and for sticking with us for the better part of a decade – we love you for that!
Until we meet again in a smoky red-lit room, or a dark alley, thanks for the hazy memories.
