Located on Jefferson Street, across the way from Boudin and Alioto’s, it’s three times the size of the original location. Although our signature is the Original San Francisco Bloody Mary, the Irish Coffee comes in a close second on our list of specialty drinks. Strong and hot, Our rendition of the Irish Coffee may rival that of the Buena Vista. Our $5 Irish Coffee price cannot be beat and has been voted the Best Deal in San Francisco. For Irish Coffee, the Gold Dust Lounge uses Lavazza coffee (so you know it’s good), a healthy pour of Irish whiskey, some brown sugar, and a topping of heavy cream. Bundle up outside and warm up over your coffee, or take a seat in the dimly lit bar area. But head in on a regular day and enjoy the sprawling bar, mellow attendees, and reasonably priced drinks. Thick, sweet cream combines with strong coffee and a kick of whiskey to satisfy an Irish Coffee craving. Founded in 1933, Gold Dust Lounge is definitely one of San Francisco's landmarks. Despite other stories about the history of Irish coffee. The original Irish coffee was first created well before there were airplanes and airports. It actually was created when the first Irish immigrants came for the gold rush during the cold San Francisco Summer back in 1849. They would mix Irish whiskey, coffee and a sugar cube together with a cream floater, and then sprinkle little gold flakes for good luck

That is the true story of Irish coffee. Here at the Golddust we have them made with real Jamison Irish whiskey and made the old-fashioned way. With a little sprinkle for good luck.
