It was a Black Celebration 🥀

A massive thank you to every beautiful soul who joined us at The Casbah for our 20th anniversary. Seeing the community come together for our first-ever full venue takeover was truly a ritual to remember.

Robin Roth and Kaerie were beyond honored to share the decks with our kindred spirits Ladynoir and Cheshirine. You made our first official night at this legendary venue one for the history books. Our dark hearts are full.

20 years of Club Ascension comes to a head as we take over the full venue at Casbah San Diego for one massive ritual across two rooms. Whether you have been with us since the Kava Lounge days or this is your first night in the shadows, tonight is for you.

Club Ascension Diaries: .mp3 ✨

From her nights on the dancefloor at Kava Lounge to her sets behind the decks, Sierra (aka Cheshirine) has become a familiar force in the Club Ascension booth.

Her roots in classical music performance, trance raves, and an affinity for dark artforms naturally ushered her into our community. Outside of the booth, Sierra runs Trinity Radio, San Diego’s gothic and rave music podcast and events community.

In 2025, she took up music production, focusing on modern darkwave, neoclassical dance, and ethereal trance. Her favorite Ascension sounds are Die Form, Frozen Autumn, Sisters of Mercy, and anything German-industrial electro.

For 10 years, Kaerie has been a cornerstone of the Club Ascension sound. From her vinyl-collecting roots to her classical training, she brings a level of craft to the booth that is purely her own. Whether she’s spinning Darkwave, Industrial, EBM or Futurepop, Kaerie’s sets are a vital part of our 20-year history. 🖤
