Decades Dance tomorrow night with Alamo City Swing Revival!

Come join us tomorrow for our 'Decades Dance'!

Dress up in an outfit from your favorite decade and celebrate with us all the years that has allowed us to dance in 2022! Tomorrow night is a Dj Night so we will be providing all the great swing tunes throughout the decades!

Remember, dance lessons start at 7pm sharp! So try to arrive early so that you don't miss any material! A quick note regarding the 'Jam Circle Etiquette' class, this week our instructors will be featuring Lindy Hop sequences. To avoid falling behind in this class, it is recommended to have taken either of our previous Lindy Hop classes prior to taking the 'Jam Circle Etiquette' class.

Feel free to bring goodies, snacks & food to share with our community! Remember our alcohol policy allows our guests to bring 2 canned drinks per individual. Sodas & water will be sold at the front desk.

Due to Covid, we are rescheduling Johnny P's gig with us for a later date. Please send Johnny P some love for a fast recovery! We will announce soon if we will have a replacement band or a Dj night next week. Stay tuned.

Hello everyone, we are rescheduling Johnny P's gig with us next Monday Night for a later date due to Covid. We will be announcing whether or not we will have a replacement band for next Monday or if we decide to substitute next Monday Night for a Dj Night.

Next Monday Night! Don't miss out on our 20s theme night with Johnny P. and The Wiseguys!

We are bringing back a community favorite next Monday Night. Johnny P. and The Wiseguys! Remember, it is our 20s theme! Come dressed in your favorite 20s outfit!

Johnny P & The Wiseguys have been performing jazz for many years in San Antonio. It's no surprise that they were one of the first bands to associate with the swing dancers back in the early 2000s. To this day, they continue to bring the energy and life to the community. We are excited to have them back next Monday Night! Don't miss out!

Remember, doors open at 6:30pm and dance lessons begin at 7pm sharp! Try to arrive on time!

Tonight at our Monday Night, we are celebrating the life of a man who helped paved the way for Swing dance. The ambassador of Lindy Hop, Frankie Manning!

Join us tonight as we celebrate the life of Frankie Manning. His birthday is on Thursday (May 26th) so we would like to recognize his work by paying homage to him today at our Monday Night.

Frankie Manning was known as the ambassador of Lindy Hop and as one of the most influential figures of Swing, he helped paved the way for Lindy Hop to grow into what it is today. Tonight, we'd like to share more facts with you about his life and his influence in the world of Swing dance!

It'll be their first time performing for us at our new location at The SA Firefighters Banquet Hall. So let's give them a warm welcome. ⁣

For those who have yet to experience this band, they are one of San Antonio's original 50s style swing band. Their performances are always tight and their energy runs lively throughout the night. We are very excited to be bring them back to ACSR next Monday Night! ⁣

Did you know? We are hosting 3 classes now for the month of May! The growth of our community has allowed us to widen our variety in the material we want to teach and with the involvement of these amazingly talented dancers, ACSR is now able to bring you more swing!

Your May classes!

1. 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐠 - Taught by Jonathan Vargas & Alexandria Gutierrez who couldn't attend last night due to feeling under the weather, but she'll be back next Monday! Leslie Kortz taught with Jonathan last night for our first Monday of May.

2. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧 #𝟐 - Taught by Ed Willars & Isis Thiel who are very talented dancers & amazing instructors. After their Charleston 1 classes in April, they are now teaching you Tandem Charleston!

3. 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 - Taught by Sheri Tate who is a talented dancer & a brilliant instructor. For those who may not know, she is also one of the founders of Alamo City Swing Revival!

Since we reopened last October, we have seen our community grow larger than ever! Because of this, we are able to implement something we haven't done since 2017: Hosting 3 classes - 1 for newcomers, 1 for those who want to challenge themselves a little more & 1 for those who feel they are in between. Remember swing dancing has many forms that involve different styles of music, culture & the dance itself. We want to give you as much swing as possible! So dust off those dance shoes & come out to get your swing on! We're here every Monday night!
