In this White House meeting on decreasing food waste.

They want to target schools to reduce loss and waste but now they’re requiring kids get everything on the menu even milk that close to half of them can’t drink.

Also looking to extend shelf life of foods…. I believe they said processed….

I’ve also heard from a reporter that I should be going to civil court in Feb of 24.

I know NO ONE thought I would make it when I was declared terminal…. But here we are.

Texas has some amazing Freedman’s towns. Also known as Freedom Colonies, 357 have been documented in Texas so far. Deep Ellum in Dallas was a Freedom Colony town.

I can’t imagine I would want to be child of the first Black family to integrate Fort Worth and send praise to Elder Opal Lee for her place in history.

In 1939, Opal Lee’s family purchased a house in Fort Worth, Texas. They were the first Black family in the neighborhood. A week after they moved in, an angry mob of 500 white rioters vandalized their home and burned it down. Opal Lee was 12 years old.

It was June 19th, 1939.

77 years later, in 2016, the now-retired, 89-year-old educator, counselor, and life-long activist walked from her home in Fort Worth to Washington, D.C. to raise awareness and support to have Juneteenth named a national holiday.

In 2021, Opal Lee was an honored guest and witness as President Biden signed the bill that officially recognized Juneteenth as an official national holiday. The “Grandmother of Juneteenth” was later nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for her dedicated activism.

Opal Lee still lives and celebrates Juneteenth in Fort Worth, Texas.

Just got off a community leaders call with Kamala Harris.

I have never agreed with her more.

Partisanship aside, *individual* community leaders and frontline human rights defenders are who create pathways between the people and the system.

We are the pulse of America as individuals not organizations.
