Some cocktails just taste like where they came from.

This week we’re pouring a dirty cocktail in partnership with Zero Foodprint , because the growers behind our fruit and grain are already doing the hard work of building healthier soil.

Swing by the lounge this week to taste and support a good cause!

When reading a label on a spirits bottle, you may see the terminology “distilled and bottled by”. First one is pretty straight-forward; we made it.

“Bottled by” means that we put the juice in the bottle. What it doesn’t nearly cover is the full scope of how excruciatingly slow — the distillers words— the hand labeling process is that all our bottles go through.

Alas, it’s always a nice sound to hear as we know our bottles are going to a good home.

Gloomy day here in MN calls for a not-so-gloomy cocktail. A take on a Beuser & Angus that features a high proof herbal liqueur; Dampfwerk floral/heather liqueur, acidity from limes, cherry softness, and one egg white.

Try it for yourselves!
1 ¾ oz Dampfwerk Heide liqueur
½ oz lime juice
½ oz maraschino liqueur
2 dashes orange flower water
1 egg white
** we like to add olives as a garnish, but to each their own.

Wet - dry shake. Pour over ice if that’s your fancy, or serve up.

Put that liqueur to good use! Prost.

The Dampfwerk is nothing if not for the kindhearted staff that we have. And one of the kindest people that we have known since the inception of the distillery is needing our communities help.

Having lost his father and uncle in the past year, Nick and his brother are in a tough spot covering funeral and cremation expenses. We have the GoFundMe linked down below if you are able to donate to help them make ends meet.

We will also be running a cocktail special (guava aquavit daisy/marg), where a portion of the proceeds will be donated. The Dampfwerk family is committed to matching those donations, as well.

Prost.

Let’s talk about one of our new drinks!

🥝Delayed gratification - a drink that becomes apparently different as it gets closer to room temperature. It starts off cold, zippy, with a gentian bitterness.

As it warms, the saffron, creaminess from the toasted malted kiwi, and barreled apple brandy come to the forefront.

Inspired by a CIA (Cynar In Apple [brandy]) shot. If you dig bitter things, this should be up your alley.

New menu officially launched.

Things We Miss:
We tend to move too quickly, and it’s only when we slow down that we notice the special everyday quirks.

The small things are often the most overlooked… quiet, functional, easy to miss. A bread clip. A metro pass. A trash can on every street corner.

We don’t notice when they disappear.
We feel something is amiss once they’re gone.

Each drink features an ingredient that adds more than it seems. Remove it, and something only feels nearly there.

Look for the *bold*, the things that are better kept around.

‼️‼️ Thank you for creating our spring/summer mascot and helping bring the whole design idea together!
