End of an era.

Last week me and boys took the last loads out of Black Lung Round Lake Beach. I built this space during Covid, mostly alone but many times with the help of friends and my wife. We built what we thought was an amazing little brewery there. We had a great 5 year run with many amazing regulars and many amazing b**rs. We won lots of awards with b**rs brewed here in Round Lake Beach. Left Fork, Craft B**r and Brewing Top 20 B**r 2024, well deserved for a very tasty brew. Multiple high rankings for Your What Hurts, Trampled, PHizzy, Haunted Hurst, and on and on. We did some great shows here for Lung Fest and Brewgrass. It was a spectacular spectacle! Leaving is bitter sweet. We had hoped to expand the taproom and enclose the tent area, but we couldn’t get it done. We felt as though we always just needed more room. Well, we found that in Grayslake. We hope you all will come see us (most have). We love the OG members and fans! God bless you all and thank you for being along for the ride! Thank you your regulars, our amazing staff and everyone that helped us make it go! See you soon;)

Farewell Round Lake Beach Taproom Greats.

To our faithful fans at Route 83,
To everyone who made the Route 83 Taproom feel like home -thank you. You’ve been with us through thick and thin, from the bare‑bones walls of a brand‑new taproom to the magical nights of music, events, Brewgrass, Lung Fest, and even our chaotic attempts at Friday 4:20 b**r releases. You showed up for the hangs, the laughs, the weird ideas, and the b**r — always the 🍻 B**r.

We’re not going far, but we know that even a couple extra miles down the road can feel like a lot. Still, we hope you’ll swing by our Grayslake taproom for a great meal and the same Black Lung b**r you’ve always loved.
This might be “farewell,” but it’s definitely only farewell for now. We’ll see you at b**r fests. We’ll see you in Grayslake. And we’ll see you at the great community events we’re lucky enough to be part of — like Pride Fest at the Round Lake Beach Civic Center.
Sadly , we won’t be at Elote Fest or some of the other Round Lake Beach events this year, but we hope to be invited back in the future. Until then, thank you for every pint, every conversation, and every memory at Route 83.
