You may have heard by now that we're not moving into the warehouse space we were assessing. But no need to get down! We've surrendered to Spirit, and we now allow the path to a new space for our social consumption lounge to unfold organically -- we trust that we will be guided to the right location at the right time 😇

The Virginia Cannabis Control Authority will be holding a public town hall IN ROANOKE on 420 Eve.

"The event will provide the public with the chance to learn about the CCA's mission and roles, current cannabis laws in Virginia, and ongoing public health and public safety initiatives. For those of you who have been who have been following the attempt in the VA Assembly to legalize recreational/adult-use cannabis sales in Virginia...

Members of our team were in Richmond again yesterday, to speak directly with delegates on General Laws Subcommittee #5, and attend the subcommittee meeting and offer public comment.

It was a long and exhilarating day that ended in disappointment, with none of the three bills we were watching moving forward 🤷‍♀️

Not this year, it turns out -- but we have faith Virginia cannabis lovers will eventually get our adult-use market.

Here are the outcomes of the 3 bills that we followed closely as they made their way through the House of Delegates over the past couple weeks. Thank you so much to everyone who put in effort to try and move these bills forward!

⭐️ HB1464

A bill to establish the market. A 1-page substitute was written, instructing the Cannabis Control Authority to outline the details of the licensing regulations by 11/1/23, in time to be reviewed by the Assembly next January. However, this substitute bill was "laid on the table" -- meaning, it will not go to the floor for a vote this year.

⭐️ HB1750

Another bill to establish the market. Also laid on the table - not moving forward this year.

⭐️ HB1881

This was a cool bill for the adult-use cannabis industry that limited the licensing fees to $1000 and prevented monopolies! But the bill was completely rewritten the day before the committee meeting, and substituted for a bill specific to industrial h**p. HB1881 is now entirely unrelated to recreational cannabis. We haven't read it in detail, but if you're in the h**p business, you may want to check out the content before this bill arrives at the General Laws Committee hearing tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon.

For now, we continue to build our high-vibe bring-your-own cannabis lounge, knowing that ONE DAY our dispensary dream will come true! Keep holding the vision with us ✨✨✨

We have a chance to get a recreational legal cannabis market this year.

TAKE ACTION NOW TO ESTABLISH RECREATIONAL CANNABIS IN VA: IF YOU WAIT, IT WILL BE TOO LATE

Hello fellow cannabis enthusiasts, medicinal consumers, and all who believe in freely available cannabis for the people.

This graphic explains how YOU can help get an adult-use/recreational cannabis retail market written into law this year.

We ask that you please take action now, for all cannabis consumers and businesses in Virginia. Your voice matters - and if you don't see or believe that, then let's make it matter.

We are only days away from the hearing (not yet scheduled) that will decide whether one of the adult-use bills even make it to the House floor for a vote.

Thanks to the many organizations that have been reading these bills and lobbying. Some of them can provide talking points and templates for interacting with legislators. We suggest you research which organizations align with your particular needs and desires. A few places to start are Virginia H**p Coalition, Virginia NORML, and Business Association of VA ().
