Meet ✨ We are excited to have him at DåncēHølø this month!
Justin Cabrillos is a choreographer, artist, and writer based in Brooklyn. He is a 2017 Movement Research artist-in-residence. He was a 2016 danceWEB scholar at ImPulsTanz, a Chez Bushwick artist-in-residence, and a recipient of a Greenhouse grant from the Chicago Dancemaker's Forum. His work has been commissioned by the IN>TIME Series in Chicago, and his last project,
Holdings, was commissioned by Danspace Project. Cabrillos has shown work at the Cultural Center of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Roulette, and Movement Research at Judson Church. Recently he has collaborated with musician Sam Yulsman and poet Gabrielle DaCosta. As a performer, he has worked with Every house has a door, Julian Barnett, and Jen Rosenblit.

He holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MA in English literature from the University of Washington, Seattle.

Meet Amelia! ✨ She will be one of our three artists performing on 4.18.19 - Don’t miss out on your chance to see her perform! .
Amelia, originally from the Midwest, is a dance performer and maker. She has been a resident artist through Chashama, Chez Bushwick, and an Associate Artist studying under Deborah Hay at Atlantic Center for the Arts. Her work has been shown throughout the US and France.

We are thrilled to introduce one of our upcoming April artists, Blaze. Make sure you come 4.18.19 to check out their incredible work! ✨

Blaze Ferrer is an interdisciplinary performer and maker. As a lead artist, Blaze has made work for AUNTS, Brooklyn Arts Exchange (NEEDING IT), chashama, HERE Arts Center, Dixon Place, Gibney Showdown, Movement Research Open Performance, and various DIY events. Blaze has performed for and helped generate pieces with The Drunkard’s Wife, Radiohole, Ursula Eagly, Ilan Bachrach & Robert M. Johanson, minor theater, Sophie Weisskoff, Ben Ferber, The Pack and Built For Collapse.
