Stomptown is Portland's home for LGBTQ Country Western Two-Step, Waltz, Swing, Shadow, and anything else that fits into the line of dance!

No partner or special dance skills required! We open every dance with a lesson at 7pm. IG:

This Saturday at Norse Hall! 🎶 Terry will be stepping in to teach our *intermediate* two-step lesson. We will be diving into some more complex moves, so participants should ideally be comfortable with two-step basics. Then DJ Josh will bring us 3 hours of partner and line dancing fun for all levels.

📢 **PLEASE bring clean, non-scuffing shoes to dance in!!** Y'all did a great job last week - thank you!

This Saturday at Norse Hall! 🍂 Caitlyn is teaching "MmmBop," a classic intermediate line dance with some very fun song swap options. After that, Ryan is leading us in a beginner+ two-step lesson, perfect for beginners who want to learn more moves. And DJ Jane will top it off with an excellent social dance playlist.

📢 **PLEASE bring clean, non-scuffing shoes to dance in!!!** Your lovely volunteers have to clean the floor (and any scuff marks) at the end of the night - please make it easier on them!

Get ready for a night of frights and delights! Come learn a fun new line dance choreographed by Stomptown’s own Michael Dressman. Then dance the night away with DJ Ollie and DJ Nat bringing you a special themed set sure to send chills down your spine.
There will also be a costume contest! The theme is “Queer Icons” (RIP Dolly Parton and Tim Curry). Special prizes for solo contest and group (2+) contest winners.
Doors open at 6:45, dancing begins at 7:00.
The cover charge is a suggested donation of $10-$20. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Coming to you this Friday at Escape! 🎶 Don't miss the debut line dance lesson from Iris, who is bringing us "Steal My Thunder" all the way from Hawaii!! Then Caitlyn will teach a quick beginner two-step lesson, followed by social dancing with DJ Ryan.

Escape Bar and Grill meets ADA requirements. The floor is all one level with a hard surface. Two single stall bathrooms are labeled "Sit" and "Sit or Stand, you do you." There will be dim, colorful, possibly moving (disco ball style) lighting. Music will be playing and background noise can be loud. Parking is available in the small lot or on the street, and bus lines are 12, 71 and 73.

Throughout the month, we will be giving a series of progressive two-step lessons, going from beginner to intermediate. If you've been wanting to learn more partner dancing, this is a great opportunity.

Show up for Stomptown! We need volunteers to help us at our Norse Hall events each month.

It's easy to do, and most shifts are only 30 mins. Plus, it's a great way to meet people and connect off of the dance floor.

Opportunities include setup, teardown, and helping at the door. We will have someone there to help train you. (Again, it's easy, we promise!)

All volunteers get FREE entry to that night's dance! As always, no one is turned away for lack of funds, and volunteering is not a requirement for that.

Wednesday 9/23: Level up your two-step skills at our Intermediate/Advanced Two-Step Workshop, in partnership with Landline ! Micah and Sye will teach us techniques and turns, including advanced patterns with forearm turns. Dance With Joy Studios, 7:30-9:30pm, $18 (NOTAFLOF). Limited capacity, please sign up in advance!! Saturday 9/26 at Norse Hall: Craving more line dancing post-Crystal Ballroom? This week's lesson "Nothing But You" is an *intermediate* line dance with Sye. It's got drama, it's got romance, with plenty of options for flair 👏 Then DJ Jane will keep us dancing all night with a mix of partner and line dance tunes.

Get ready to boot scootin' boogie under the neon moon... It's THROWBACK NIGHT! ✨ DJ Ollie is taking us back to the 70s, 80s, and 90s with classic country hits and more. It's gonna be even better than those old line dance VHS tapes 😉

We're starting the night off with a Beginner+ West Coast Swing lesson from Sequoia: sugar pushes, sugar tucks, and whips.

📢 This lesson is intended for those who already know WCS basics - we will NOT be covering the basic steps!
