Another heatwave is coming - and it's all of the hot people that you are signing up to volunteer and help us out with events! Many of the things we do we couldn't make happen without our volunteers, and Norse events are a big one of these. Whether it's showing up early to setup, staffing the door, or staying late to clean, we appreciate you SO MUCH. As part of that appreciation, we let volunteers in free for the event! Check the link in bio and sign up to be hot this weekenddddd

Grab a partner (or find one on the floor) for our dance this Saturday at Norse Hall, because we're learning a pattern dance - Horseshoe Shuffle! If you've never heard of a pattern dance, it's like a combo of a two step that moves around a circle, but with repeated moves like a line dance (one of our most requested pattern dances is Barn Dance, you've probably done it with us at least if you danced regularly in the last 6 months). Sye will be teaching at 7pm, and DJ Rachelle will give us tunes until 11pm.

If that's not enough to convince you, we'll also have a bonus exclusive performance of both our Derby performers AND Bootscamps around 9pm, so if you missed them at Roller Derby, you've got another chance this weekend!

Sunday scaries got you in their grasp? Take this extra event as a treat! Not this week (that's for Norse), but next week on Thursday, June 25th, we'll be having a line dance night from 7-11pm at Village Ballroom above Laverne's in NE Portland. Michael and Amanda are teaching lessons at 7pm and 9pm respectively, to "Hey Cowboy" and "Pieces to the Puzzle".

DJ Sye of Landline fame will be playing best hits, song swaps, and taking requests for line dances ONLY, so if you've ever wished our regular nights had more dances, this is the night to attend! (And if you absolutely can't, don't worry, we've got another even MORE exciting one on the books for July we'll announce soon)

What do high kicks, butt slaps, and Pride have in common? They all are connected to the line dance this Friday at Escape! Come learn the dance we're doing for the Pride Parade in July - High Class, taught by AJ at 7pm. DJ Josh will be taking requests and managing our tunes for the evening thru 11pm. As always, remember to tip your bartender and check the comments for location and accessibility info!

Come join us as we dance in Portland Pride this year on Sunday, July 19! There are no shortage of good reasons:
- Another cute ass q***r shirt (I mean look at this design)
- People cheering you on to your favorite dances
- Celebrating q***r joy with dance
- A familiar favorite line dance to show the crowd ("High Class" if you're curious, which we'll teach again this month)

Prep yourselves, because we have TWO line dances teaches this Friday at Escape! Natalie will debut teaching "Baby Boo", an Improver line dance at 7pm, and at 9pm, we'll have a special guest instructor AND choreographer from Atlanta!

Garret Boyd is visiting town and will be teaching an Improver line dance "Ride a Cowgirl" that he also choreographed! DJ Ryan will be giving us tunes through the rest of the night, so come enjoy.

Reminder for y'all that Stomptown Prom's Garden Party is THIS SATURDAY, with all the details on our previous post (conveniently also the second slide here). Since we're gonna have lots of extra decorations as well as corsages and boutonnières available for purchase, volunteers to help out are even more important and valuable!
