In love, for love, and with love, through this swiftly tilting shared experience, Expatriate will be open tonight from 5pm until midnight, in solidarity with all who are working towards a more perfect union, however that collective will may manifest itself.
What we have as individuals in the practice of our vocation, within the confines of this small bar is a rare, continuous and humble belief that the world outside of our walls can become more kind, beautiful, and just. In the face of a much different reality, our staff has chosen to keep on moving. We remain a stubbornly optimistic place focused in comfort, care and cooperation, albeit an occasionally pragmatic one. Wherever on the map your pin might land on the 30th of January, two thousand and twenty six years into the common era, we’d be grateful if you joined us, even if you won’t be coming into the room.
At the risk of being impolite, a brief acknowledgement of our incredibly generous staff: By unanimous decision, every single human who works at Expatriate will share 10% of their tips with the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition for the next week, alongside 10% of our gross sales as a business. What we have is in common. Our staff, our city, our faith in something greater than ourselves. We’d be grateful to offer our best contribution to that end, if you’re so inclined.
