📢 NO SEPTEMBER Pants OFF Dance OFF

Due to the attendance for the August event, we were unable to meet the required bar sales minimum the night of, meaning that while our event deposit goes towards the remainder... but the producer is on the hook for nearly $900. That's not feasible to cover for September and as such, we're taking a break to re-evaluate and re-tool.

PODO has a cost to run on its own, with staffing/DJ/supplies costs running approx $1250 - and those who attend are supporting good wages for staff and purchases at the bar not only support the venue employees but also count towards us meeting our sales minimum. Understandable with a lower turnout, and us working to prove our dedication to the perfect PODO experience, as it was for nearly 6 years and well over 50 successful pants-less parties.

DJ Sodapop (she/they) has been effervescent at parties like:

🔹️The Rogue Apostle's 4th Saturday and Sunday Drag and Comedy Night Drag and Brunch Drag Events @ Underbar..and more!

They are committed to bringing back our mission of PODO's unique vibe of Top 40 dance/pop with remixes and mashups added in for bubbly flavor!

And they'll be playing on our new speaker sound system to enhance the audio, bring the beat, and get us back to the PANTS OFF PARTY VIBE WE ALL LOVE.

We new improvements were to be made, and you listened, shared, and helped. Thanks for the chance to prove that after 63 pre-pandemic parties... we're getting back to our roots in 2023 with the right staff, sound, and party!

Coming back to life after back-to-back , orphan workday Monday, and holiday... gathering info, research, and leads on DJs/themes/interested staffers. Very tired and honestly, very mentally fatigued, but very happy with as it went well, the parts that did not are correctable, and the kindness with which folks have reached out with their concerns is heartwarming. We grow, we learn, we excel.

Friends... thank you SO much for making our return at Pants OFF Dance OFF: RED, WHITE & NÜDÉ such fun and a great turnout!

I'm just one guy who hires as many q***r/BIPOC/trans&enby folks as I can to help me wrangle and run this show. The kindness with which you extended your concerns the night of the event was wonderful, humbling, and what I'd expect of PODO attendees... and I expect and request you direct all concerns, troubles, and/or commentary to me and not any other human working the event.
PODO happens because of YOU and is for YOU ♥

As with any event that's been dormant for 3+ years, we had some growing pains; and the venue had entirely sound systems and spaces which took some navigation. I appreciate your kind understanding in getting things organized and our learning curve as we adapted to ~40% more space and how to staff, sound, and manage it.

The sound system we used for the event was the built-in Sonos integrated speaker system and was not designed for DJ equipment nor for immediate audio response as it had a 5 second delay between signal and playtime. Our DJ for the event did they best they could with a system that clearly couldn't quite handle the intensity of our party - way to go, Pants OFF! While the sound system had some hiccups, the music and styles were a miscommunication between promoter and DJ and led to an unfortunate confusion in experience.

Pants OFF has always been and will always be a pop dance driven party, where the formula asked of the DJ is: 40% Top 40 from the past 40 years; 40% new mixes, mashups, and covers of Top 40; and 20% introduction to new artists and songs that fit the style. Moving forward, that is the only experience we will be providing with our music, DJS, and events. Guaranteed.

While the sound/music/hiccups are a known factor for improvement and that we have some traffic flow changes at the door in the future, we genuinely want to know what you thought!

Watch for a survey within the next day or so! Entries that wish to share contact info will be entered into a chance to receive free tickets and a free bar tab at a future event!

Ticketholders will be receiving a unique survey via email as well, and those who bought during the special 'bonus flash sale' will be getting email information as well.
