Jorma Kaukonen at Raoul's. Jorma played at Raoul's many times between 1988 and 1991 in both electric Hot Tuna and acoustic Hot Tuna as well as a few solo shows. This B/W picture was taken by Jeremy Prescott in 1989.

Raoul encouraged beer lovers to travel around the world seeking exotic flavors and and a more worldly perspective. Fantastic rewards awaited all travelers who journeyed the globe and completed the expedition. Here is a completed stamped passport from traveler Chuck Webber to document his long strange trip taken in the late 80's.

David Geary, the founder of D L Geary Brewing, founded Geary's Pale Ale and started producing beer in Portland, Maine. The first pints were poured on December 10th ,1986 at Raoul's Roadside Attraction. A total of 12 kegs ( @ 1.00 for a 16 oz. pint glass) were tapped and fully consumed by close of business at last call on December 11th. David Geary was truly the Godfather of the Maine Craft Beer Industry. Raise a glass of Geary's in tribute to the greatest beer pioneer in Maine history!
