From the creeks of North America we now travel all the way to the Pacific Ocean to find the next fish on our trip to the FoxBriar Aquarium: the Goldentail Moray Eel.

The Goldentail Moray Eel, also referred to as the Dwarf Moray Eel, is one of the smallest members of the moray family, rarely growing to be longer than 12” in length. Despite their small size, they are masters of camouflage, and expert hunters.

Our Goldentail Moray Eel takes inspiration from both the color and habitat range of its namesake, and combines toasted sesame seed oil washed original double dark rum, Giffard USA banana liqueur, house made miso caramel syrup, and lemon juice to create a creamy and sweet cocktail that’s perfect for a summer sip!

If you thought our bird menu had some questionable names, we’re pleased to introduce you to another freshwater friend that calls our own rivers and streams home: the Creek Chub.

Native to large portions of North America, the Creek Chub enjoys rocky stream beds where they construct intricate nests to lay their eggs. While often used as bait fish, they are an important member of their ecosystems and play the role of both predator and prey.

Our Creek Chub cocktail is a play on the classic manhattan, and made with Laird & Company | America's First & Finest 10th generation apple brandy, original dark, sweet vermouth, and ANGOSTURA Bitters cocoa bitters. It’s booze forward, with a mild sweetness and dash of funk.

We at the FoxBriar hope you all had a great 4th of July and all your fingers are still attached. We also realize that sometimes a day of celebration leads to a morning that’s less than ideal, so we’ve concocted what we think might be the perfect cure for whatever ails you.

We’ll be serving our house made bloody Mary’s from 1 to 9p today, with special snack offerings of pickled eggs and potato chips. So whether you’re in recovery from a well deserved 4th of July celebration, or feeling , we highly recommend stopping by to enjoy your afternoon 🦊

As we return to the FoxBriar Aquarium, we’re transported to the kelp forests off the southern coast of Australia, and greeted by none other than the Leafy Sea Dragon.

The Leafy Sea Dragon is closely related to the sea horse, with dozens of leaf like appendages which aid in camouflaging it from predators. Like their relatives, the males carry the eggs until hatching, making them some of natures best dads!

Our Leafy Sea Dragon is a delightfully refreshing take on a spritz, and is made with Suntory Roku Gin, Pipers Tea & Coffee earl grey, a vanilla honey syrup, and lemon juice. This mix is then carbonated to give it effervescence.

Sunday Sips just got a little more spirited 🥃

For years, we've gathered monthly on Sunday afternoons to explore wine from around the world and the response has been nothing short of incredible. So we're expanding the series:

Joins us Sunday June 7th from 2–4pm for the first installment: Sips with Fish (Adams)- a bourbon tasting

We're kicking things off with a deep dive into vintage Kentucky pours, curated by Fish Adams of the The Paducah Bourbon Society, alongside a selection of bottles from newer distilleries chosen by our very own Matt Johnston. We'll be comparing old guard vs. new wave and talking about where this beloved spirit has been, where it is now, and where it's headed.

Bourbon is just the beginning in this new spirit series 🦊

As we countdown to our next Sunday Sips event on May 31st, the next two weeks at The FoxBriar will spotlight traditional method sparkling wines from around the world aka the perfect warm-weather pour 🍾

This week’s pick comes from the historic Constantia Valley just outside Cape Town, South Africa. Founded in the 1690s, has become one of the country’s benchmark producers of Sauvignon Blanc and Cap Classique sparkling wines.

The wine itself is crisp, vibrant, and easy to drink. Expect bright citrus, fresh-cut grass, and zesty lemon-lime flavors with a dry, mineral finish that practically begs for sunshine, a patio chair, & a second pour.

If you love bone-dry Champagne but not the price tag, this bottle deserves your attention.
