Things are starting to come together in a big way at Bay 54.

The walls are fully primed and ready for their final colors.The lighting is going up.Our bar equipment has arrived and is starting to find its home.

For the first time, this space is shifting from “project” to “place.” When we walk through it now, we can see how it’s going to feel. The scale, the glow, the way the room comes together.

Because of that, we’ve decided this will be our last big construction update before we announce opening. We want to keep the finishes, furniture, and a few final details under wraps so your first step inside has a little wow to it.

Thank you for the encouragement, the check ins, and the patience through every delay and delivery. Bay 54 is being built for this community, and we are excited to share it with you soon.

Things are really moving at Bay 54, and the space is finally starting to take shape.

Our bar top is officially installed and ready to be finished, and furniture and fixtures are starting to arrive. We just picked up eight brand new custom booths, they’re wrapped up tight for now while we keep a few design secrets under cover.

Even better, Chicago winter is finally breaking. That means we’re cutting in the new emergency exit door next, then it’s full steam ahead with painting and finishing everything.

We’re beyond excited to see this space coming together and incredibly grateful for all the support along the way. Thanks for following the journey, more updates coming soon.

We’re officially gaining real momentum at Bay 54. The delays are behind us, inspections are complete and approved, and the progress over the last five days has been huge. For the first time, the space is truly starting to look and feel like a bar.

We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support and patience. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, enjoy the holidays, and be sure to check back soon for more updates.

Delays are never fun, but they are part of building something worth waiting for. Our permit is now posted in the window and construction is officially underway. While our signs say Late 2025, the honest timeline has shifted into 2026. We want to do this the right way, not the rushed way, and that means taking the time to create a space that feels intentional, welcoming, and truly aligned with our vision for Bay 54.

Thank you to everyone who has checked in, offered support, or simply believed in the project even when the timeline stretched. Your encouragement keeps this moving and reminds us why we are doing it in the first place. The next chapter starts now and we cannot wait to share every step with you. Bay 54 is happening.

𝐖𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐲 𝟓𝟒.

I’ve been in bars and restaurants since I was 16. After a short break in sales, I found my way back to this industry and never left. It’s where I belong.

𝐀𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞. While she works full-time in her own career, she sees the big picture, keeps me grounded, and makes sure everything comes together. You might not see her face behind the bar all the time, but when you do, make sure to say hello.

We’re hitting a few delays as we get Bay 54 ready, but we’re pushing through and can’t wait to open our doors. Our vision is simple: 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬, 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲. Whether you’re just getting into cocktails and want to try something from the menu, you’re looking for riffs on the classics, or you want to swap stories over a pour of bourbon, Bay 54 will be the place for you.

From the team behind The Lewis... we’ve got something new on the horizon.

We’re excited to share that we’re opening our second location later this year — a new cocktail lounge called Bay 54, coming to Oswego, IL.

This next step wouldn’t be possible without everything we’ve built — and continue to build — together at The Lewis. The support, love, and energy from our team and guests have meant everything to us. Bay 54 is a natural evolution of what we do: hospitality that feels real, drinks that are made with care, and spaces that invite people in.

Bay 54 will live inside a former Oswego firehouse, originally built in 1954, and we’re setting up shop right in the old Engine Bay. The name honors the building’s legacy — just like The Lewis paid tribute to its own.

But here’s the thing — Bay 54 isn’t The Lewis in Oswego. It’s a whole new vibe. Where The Lewis leans into the 1970s, Bay 54 draws its soul from a different place — think more timeless lounge than retro revival. Deep tones, leather, brass, and bourbon — a bit more refined, a little moodier, but still warm, welcoming, and very us.

Opening Late Fall / Early Winter 2025.
