The Garage of Doom

The Garage of Doom the garage of college park! the "no holds barred" hang out spot for teens in college park, fl where everything was ok and legal.

and was very popular for the first half of the 2000s, the garage of doom was originally established january 17th 1998, as project S.A.2.K for Setup Altama 2000. by Bobby beaumont, Mark cooper jr, and J.C. cooper as a get away from parents, and as a test bed for stereophonic / audio experiments. it was relitivly unknown till the summer of 1999 when word got out and almost overnight, it became the m

ost popular spot in the area for kids to skip school, smoke weed, and meet chicks, witch was not what the garage was originally intended for. all the wile also causing major neighborhood noise disturbences and other chaos. there was only 2 rules of the garage, 1, anyone may enter, but anyone entering MUST write on the wall. 2. what happens in the garage stays in the garage. the pro-graffiti policy and anti athouraty MO there created some of the bigest events of college park teens in the early 2000s. it was a original place for original people. many events took place there, including of sevrel unplanned teenage pregnancies, arrests, drug use, and very loud music. it was also rumored that the garage was haunted, there were many reports of supernatural activity there, including orbs, shadow people, and full body apporitions, that frightened some garage members to leave and never return, adding to the awe and mystique of the place.

As we celebrate the 19th anniversary of the Garage of Doom, we acknowledge its early history. Here is a rare photo of its original set up. In its humble beginnings there wasn't too much going on in there. And the garage of Doom was not always called the garage of Doom. In its first few years it had several name changes. In the first week of completion the original garage creators after setting everything up stood back at the Marvel they had created. They took a metal black Sharpie, you know, the ones with that smell, signed their names to the wall and the date they created. Already from that point on the garage graffiti began, and followed the tradition till the end. The following weekend after January 17th the garage was opened with much fanfare and kids from all over the neighborhood came over to see it. However in the first month of its Inception trouble already began. The garage of doom saw its first police officer they're for a noise complaint about a week later. Pictured in this photo is the very first mega system the garage became famous for. In the middle is what was called the "Tower of Power" which was a signature part of the garages DNA the entire time. It took a ladder to stack them so high.

Friends of The Garage of Doom, the original social network of north Orlando. Today is a special day, our anniversary. It was today 19 years ago that the original blueprints of the garage of Doom or put into action. On the crisp cool morning of January 17th, 1998, 4 brave kids, Robert Beaumont, Spencer Dameron, Richie Elwood, and Sean Hidden, built the unthinkable. A 5,000 watt wall of sound in a dusty old garage that would soon be one of the most famous and infamous neighborhood hangouts in College Park. Throughout the day today we will look back at some of the amazing and goofy incidents that took place in those early years. Stay tuned!

Friends, Followers, and Patrons of the original Garage Of Doom, we have wonderful news about this place that we thought would end up dust in the wind like so many other places in the College Park / Ivanhood area, but we have contacted the new owners of our special place and there's nothing but good news to report! The Garage Of Doom was purchased by a great couple that loves history, and will be restoring the Garage as well as the other structure on the property to its former glory. They also appreciate all of the vibrant graffiti that makes this place so special to us all. The famous drunken garage ramblings of so many will not only be preserved, but also untouched! They are even going to use spaces on the walls that are open, to write their own stuff on, and so their friends can also sign and draw on! So the torch has officially been passed! They will also be posting photos of thier future experiences in the garage! Long Live the Garage Of Doom!!! The Original Local Social Networking Spot since 1998, and for a very long time to come, I'm sure.
