Astronomers have devised a new method for measuring perhaps the greatest puzzle of our universe -- dark energy.

REMEMBER: You, yes you, can check out an 8-inch Dobsonian from Lab Stores!! Don't let that opportunity go to waste!!!

Hey I hope all you Greeners that are attending Spring quarter are really getting out there and trying to get the club going again. I know that you guys can do it!! It is Spring, so the stars are starting to come out up there in the Northwest.. I really encourage you guys to get the club strong this Spring so it can run through next year! I couldn't make it happen, but maybe one of you guys can spread the word better.

Check it out: Quadrantid meteor shower! Peaks January 3rd (around 1am, as all meteor showers do) and this one is amazing. 120 meteors an hour and the best part- new moon. Let's all hope for clear skies that night! Maybe a group of us can meet on the big field weather permitting. Bring friends.

Hello nine wonderful fans! Okay so I was supposed to get the club gonig this quarter but due to family issues I have not really had the time. Hoping to get it done early next quarter, I think we can do this. I will try to be in touch! Have a great break you guys! Happy holidays!

The second of December is going to be amazing- an unusually bright Venus in conjunction with a crescent. The 4th of the month is super awesome because the morning star will be -4.9 mag. Dude. Look for it around 4am.

What's that planet by the moon? It's Jupiter! Cool fact about Jupiter: its bottom band has been missing since Spring! If you get a chance to see it with binocs or telescope it is half white and half red. How cool is that?!? A storm that has been raging just disappeared! It has happened multiple times in the past and they expect it to be back soon, though they don't know when... So check it out before it returns!
