I need your help!

State Bill 550 has the potential to make it illegal for us to perform at public fairs and festivals, which is a large portion of what we do.

Essentially the bill states that any adult cabaret or similar entertainer's performance viewable by anyone under the age of 18 is punishable by fine or jail. While it doesn't fully define cabaret, we meet their definition of drag which is "a male or female performer who adopts a flamboyant or parodic feminine or masculine persona with glamorous or exaggerated costumes and makeup"

This is a slippery slope. That definition could be applied to majorettes, cheerleaders, even visiting artists like Chappell Roan and Lady GaGa.

The bill will be heard by the safety committee on Tuesday February 11th. Please call and email your state reps. *Share this post.* Tell parents and cousins and friends you haven't seen in years to do the same. Contact your representatives! Don't let this go through.
