Thank you to all of you who came out to help bid us farewell last week! While we are now officially closed, we wanted to make sure to post our last Sidebar love note: dedicated to our outstanding team. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible staff, both front and back of house, for the many years of dedication and hard work from way back in the early days of Sidebar to just last week. We thank you for all your contributions and making Sidebar feel like a home away from home for all of us. You reminded us every day why we love our Oakland community. We already miss you! ❤️ We’ll take these memories with us and will always look back at them fondly. Cheers to your next chapter! 🙏🙏🫶

Today’s Sidebar love note is dedicated to our furry friends. 🐶

If you didn’t already know by the dog treats Jason has hid on the patio for years, we are huge dog lovers here! Whether you’re walking by or dining outside, we all look forward to the pups as much as the parents. Thanks to all who’ve stopped by to say hello and let us make furry friends. There are treats left to share, so please bring your babies by one more time!

Eating and socializing are two of the most essential parts of being human. We have had the honor to feed you and provide a safe space to relax, eat, and be social. 😊It’s a bonus that you have a favorite dish that keeps you coming back (and thanks for insisting we keep mussels on the menu!). Here’s to all the dishes that have nourished us over the years.

For our last 2 weeks of service, we’ll be taking some time to honor this little gem of a restaurant that Mark and Barbara started in 2009 with a series of love notes. ❤️ Join us in celebrating “10 Things We Love About Sidebar.”

Looking out across the street at Lake Merritt while sipping on/munching on a Sidebar bevy/burger never gets old. Thinking about all the times we’ve kicked back, enjoyed the view, and connected with you makes us smile… 😊🫶

Dear Friends - we just made the very difficult decision to have our last day of service be Saturday, January 27th, 2024. 🥀 Following that, Sidebar will be closed to the public and utilized as a prep and overflow space for Bardo private events.

Huge thanks to our team of dedicated professionals who invigorated Sidebar with new life and great food and cocktail programs during this last year. 😊We extra appreciate all of you who have supported Sidebar and its family of loyal staff throughout its many years as an iconic Oakland dining destination. We will miss our team and many loyal guests. We hope to host you at least one more time over these next few weeks!
