I'm fine
Girl, you're getting maybe 3 hours of sleep, barely eating, running off adrenaline, caffeine and hatred. You're one f**k it away from an early grave.
I said I'm fine
But your eyes are telling a different story.
They’re tired. Puffy. Like you’ve been holding back tears all week.
Your hoodie is on for the 3rd day. Your phone is on DND.
You answer "lol I’m good" while your hands shake from your 4th coffee.
"I'm fine" is what you say when you're too exhausted to explain.
When "I'm not okay" feels like too much truth.
When you’ve been carrying everyone else and nobody asked how heavy it is.
You're surviving, not living.
Skipping meals because your stomach is in knots.
Snapping at small things because your nervous system is fried.
Laughing it off because if you stop moving, you might fall apart.
Baby, "fine" is not a feeling.
"Fine" is a shield.
And you’ve been hiding behind it so long you forgot what soft feels like.
You don’t have to be okay right now.
You’re allowed to be tired.
You’re allowed to be mad.
You’re allowed to fall apart and still be worthy of love.
So put the coffee down.
Eat something.
Text someone back with the truth.
Let yourself rest before your body forces you to.
Because you’re not fine.
And that’s okay.
But don’t pretend you are until it breaks you.
